Anahita (Αναχίτα) was born in Ancient Greece along with her twin brother, Nuriel. She is the first Vampire sired by Darius Salvatore himself.
Appearance[]
Anahita is described as 4'8" tall and has a tiny body with lank, pale brown hair trimmed semi short and pale skin to match it.
Alexandria describes her as having an exceptional face that would "make an angel look like a gargoyle". Her eyes are wide and her lips full, while her voice is described as high and thin and usually speaks with an air of apathy or boredom, but maintains a commanding presence due to the fear she provides with her power. In the Vampire Diaries episodes, she is portrayed as having long, blond hair tied in a bun. While in the books it's said that she has brown, wavy hair, that stops at her shoulders.
As with most of the Preeminent Vampires sired early on by Darius, her eyes are dark red in color which darken when she is thirsty.

Southern England[]
Anahita was born in England around 43 A.D. the daughter of an Anglo-Saxon woman and a Frankish warrior. She was born a few minutes before her fraternal twin brother, Nuriel. Both Anahita and Nuriel displayed strong magical abilities that were evident even in their early years.
Anahita's father is killed in action during the Roman conquest of Britain, and dies in battle. This heavily and negatively effects Anahita, so much so that she develops thanatophobia, a fear of death and dying. This very fear is the same thing that drives her to harnessing her magical prowess, and casting a Longevity Spell, affording her over a millennium of youth. Her thanatophobia drove her to casting the same spell on her mother and forcing her twin brother to use it on himself. Despising the inability to age, the very longevity spell Anahita casted on her mother in order to preserve her life, was the very that led to her taking it, seeing it as something that disturbed the balance of nature.
Nuriel is distraught that her mother would take her own life, and would put the all of the blame onto a young Anahita, calling her a "death magnet", that attracts "pain wherever she goes", before abandoning her, and venturing to Italy.
Anahita, scared to be alone, secretly follows her brother to Italy, who lives out his life, practically forgetting all about his little sister he believed he left in England. She watches as he forgets about her, kills aimlessly, indulges in vice, and strays from moral all together. He becomes a monster.. A murderer.
Florence, Italy[]
After being tired of watching the "demon" her brother had become, Anahita stops him before he violently murders a young women, which would have been his 95th murdered person on his killing spree. When her brother fails to realise who she is, a single tear comes from her eye, before viewing Nuriel's destruction and behaviour as her fault. Her "monstrous creation" that she made when she decided to make him an un-aging witch. 
San Marino[]
Anahita decides to use a significant portion of her magical power to lure, seal and trap her brother in extremely vacant lands, just outside of Florence. These very same vacant lands would later become known as San Marino.
Trapped by an unseeable forcefield wall, in the lands of what would later be established as San Marino, Nuriel survived off wildlife, nature, and during that period, became a cannibalistic mad man.Bored and lonely, Anahita travels all around the world as a nomadic traveller, going place to place, fiending for adventure. Every century or so, Anahita checks up on her brother, Nuriel, ensuring he never escapes her supernatural seal, for if he did, his deranged and demented wrath would be brought upon the Medieval Italians.
Barcelona, Spain[]
During this time Anahita settles into to life in Barcelona, Spain, before moving back to Italy to keep a closer eye on her brother and her own containment spell.
Padua, Italy[]
Anahita resides in Padua for four years, before moving to Rome.
Rome, Italy[]
In Rome, Anahita becomes well acquainted and is welcomed into the home of Italy's Salvatore family. The Salvatore's allow her to stay at their home for as long as she wishes, and their kindness and hospitality is never forgotten by Anahita. Their welcoming made her feel normal again, like she had a loving family once more. This memory is kept with her up until her last moments.
Rome, Italy[]
As a newly turned Vampire, Darius Salvatore would come to sire many, and out of these many, Anahita was one of them. Anahita had become in love with Darius Salvatore, and in actuality, was only sired due to her continuous begging to be turned.
San Marino[]
With her becoming a Vampire, her spell that was cast, had now become dim, and was losing strength. Being able to sense the magical weak points, Nuriel would break free, and bring carnage upon Florence, Italy.
Florence, Italy[]
Darius hears of his bloody rampages from many miles away, and has Anahita accompany him to Florence in order to put an end to Nuriel's "fun". Nuriel is found by Darius and Anahita working alongside one another, leading to Anahita telling Darius Nuriel is her brother. She asks Darius to stop him, so he kills Nuriel and turns him. Nuriel is can't hold back his hunger any more, and is forced to feed on an italian farmer.
Anahita stays alongside Darius, and grows obsessed and attached due to her sire bond to him. Anahita would later be daggered by Darius using a dagger dipped and magically bound to oak from trees capable of subduing aged and early Vampires. He did this because she became quite the problem over the decades, and she caused him unnecessary stress and worry. It wouldn't be until three centuries that she was brought back to life.
Anahita is undaggered and turned into a Preeminent Vampire by Darius, with her forgiving him and becoming even more in love with him because of his power-increase and making her into an even stronger being. She forgives him because of this as well. After a half a century, Darius would compel Anahita.
Anahita is compelled by Darius to forget knowing him, to not feel indebted to him for turning her, and to make decisions for herself.
Mystic Falls, Virginia[]
Anahita travels to Mystic Falls, hearing its a great place for Vampires, completely unaware of the towns notorious and infamous prior history with Vampires. There, she "meets" Darius Salvatore, and she begins to hate him. Although, after his warning of the people of Mystic Falls, and them being aware of their presences, accompanied by her learning of their shared time in Italy, Anahita, begins to bond with him. They reminisce about their homes in Rome, before Anahita starts wondering how she didn't know of Darius as they were both in Italy at the time. Darius explains that he participated in the first Crusade, leading to his absence from the country for a time. He further explains how he died fighting for his country in the Crusade, and refused to be desserter, which was how he became a Vampire. Anahita listens to him, and takes pity on how life treated and the un-fortune of it all.
