History

Thousands of years ago, Atlanteans were once human beings who lived on a particularly fertile island-continent, a fabled utopia called "Atlantis". The royal family who were descendants of the god Poseidon possessed various divine powers.

The Great Flood

The Atlanteans lived in great prosperity, until inevitably the King of Atlantis became too ambitious and hungry for power. This lead to the Atlanteans going into constant war with each other, which caused a massive flood to sink the island of Atlantis. Many Atlanteans died from the Great Flood while others survived.

The Birth of the Aquatic Atlanteans

The Atlanteans who survived were able to adapt to their new environment. And so the Atlanteans evolved from being human beings to becoming an aquatic species. Though due to Atlantis being underwater, the Atlanteans were forced to leave their city and rebuild their civilization somewhere else in the ocean.

Culture

As humans, Atlanteans were warriors who only fought if necessary.

As an aquatic species, Atlanteans are the inhabitants of the ocean who kill and hunt for food in order to survive, much like merpeople.

Appearance

All Atlanteans have the average human height of 6'0 feet. They have muscular bodies, white hair and pale blue eyes. They also have bright blue markings all over their bodies.

Powers and Abilities

Basic Powers

• Atlantean Physiology - All Atlanteans have the same powers and abilities. In aquatic form, Atlanteans have visible gills on their necks and webbed hands. On land, Atlanteans are able to transition from aquatic to human form, in order to breathe air.
  • Aquatic Breathing - All Atlanteans have the ability to breathe water and air.
  • Longevity - All Atlanteans have a long lifespan. They’re capable of living for thousands of years.

Weaknesses

Atlanteans may or may not have many weaknesses.

• Transition - They may have complications when transitioning from water to air.
• Water Pollution - Chemicals/Pollutants in water may damage the lungs.
• Freshwater - Atlanteans can only breathe seawater.
