Catch of the Day is the second part of Chapter One and the second part overall of H2O.
Plot[]
At the Sertori House; Cleo was sleeping and dreaming about the time that Miriam Kent played a prank on her sister. The memory began to become hazy the more the dream went causing Cleo to abruptly awaken in the middle of the night. Cleo began researching as much as she could, but could find nothing on Merfolk Magic. Cleo wondered downstairs and noticed something just outside the front door through the glass panels and proceeded to open the door to fetch it. She took it to her before looking at it and it was filled with weird text and a language she can't quite understand. She proceeded to use focus on a spell and looked over to her neighbours pool and proceeded to recite the incantation "Facere Aqua Solidum" which caused the entire water to solidify. Cleo was amused by the results before noticing an incantation at the end of the page which was "revertatur" which undid her recent spell.
Early in the morning; Rikki and Emma arrived at Cleo's house and were studying the book. They decided to take it to an empty field and practise it. Emma chose a spell to use and recite the incantation "Caeli Inspiratione Mirum" which caused a blast of air to destroy one of the pumpkins they were using it. Cleo recited "Facere Aqua Solidum" turning a puddle of water solid. Rikki proceeded to recite "Facere Liquidus" causing one of pumpkins to liquefy. Each of them recite "revertatur" which managed to undo most of the spells they used accept the Air Blast Spell. Cleo realised that the Reversion Spell didn't just undo one of the spells they used - it undoes all spells they used.
Later at JuiceNet; Rikki and Emma were working when Zane, Lewis, Lyla, and Cam arriving at the Cafe. They each made their orders when the coffee machine failed to heat up so Rikki looked around before whispering "Infervesco" at it causing the water to start boiling. Zane was impressed by Rikki's recent coffees stating that they weren't under-boiled anymore. Rikki gave a smug smirk before prancing away. Rikki looked over to Emma who still seemed to distant due to Rikki's attitude before turning to her patrons and telling them that she's closing up for the day. Rikki told Emma to come with her and they proceeded going for a swim. They enter the Southern Ocean and they heard from a vessel approaching above. Emma heard one of them that Neil Gilbert was paying them to hunt in the region to get him as long as he gets some of the whale meat they collect.
At Lisa Gilbert's house; Lisa was talking on the phone to the High School to tell them that she wasn't feeling to well and will be taking the day off. Cleo arrived at Lisa's and told her that she began learning spells with Emma and Rikki. Lisa voiced her disapproval of the recent events and hoped that Emma could be turned back into a Human, but Cleo stated that it's not likely possible. Elliot arrived with Will and asked if they can use Lisa's computer to do school work due to Neil being missing. Lisa agreed and let them.
The Mayor of Southbank was walking on the beach when everything suddenly altered around him as he saw a hooded man accosting him. The Mayor told him to go away, but the man kept hounding him causing the Mayor to punch him in self-defence, but to his shock he was quickly overpowered by an unseen force until the surroundings change to normal as Thomas was reciting his intentions to arrest the Mayor for assaulting him. Neil watched afar as he smirked at what he had accomplished. He walked away before spotting Miriam surfing with a couple of her friends. Miriam was approached by Zane where he asked whether or not she was still a psycho when she turned to him smirking - she told him that he was no longer going to let him get under her skin. Lewis walked off after he berated Zane for his constant belittling of others. Cleo had been watching the exchange between Thomas and the Mayor, and realised that Neil used illusions to make him attack the mayor.
Cleo went over to Thomas and asked him to reconsider as she believed that he was getting framed. Thomas retorted that she saw him through the punch and that there was no way - Thomas could've been framed for the crime. Thomas sympathised with Cleo as the Mayor was close friend of Cleo's grandparents and understood her feelings, but asked to keep an open mind. Cleo brushed him off and marched over to Lewis. She took him aside and asked for his help to stop Neil's revenge plan. Cleo revealed to Lewis that Neil was a Rakshasa and Lisa was a Vampire.
At Lisa Gilbert's House; Cleo and Lewis were discussing their plans when Lisa came in and listened to their plan, however, Cleo turned to Lisa presented her with a Lapis Lazuli ring as she proceeded to cast spell while bathing it in the sunlight before handing it to Lisa. Lisa put it on and Cleo opened the curtains revealing that she just made a daylight ring. Cleo turned to Lewis and asked for some privacy as she went off to make a vlog about her inability to find work. Cleo ended her vlog early before returning to Lewis and apologising to him as she often acts irrational due to her social awkwardness. Lewis understood and asked her what her plan was.
Miriam arrived on the street of Lisa Gilbert's house along with her friends Tiffany, Nate, and Byron calling Cleo a crybaby. Lisa ordered them to go away. Nate and Byron grabbed Cleo and proceeded to toss her in the neighbour's pool. She transforms into a Mermaid in their presence forcing Lisa to compel them to forget seeing Cleo today and to go home, and not leave until tomorrow morning. Lisa proceeded to try to compel Miriam, but she proved immune to compulsion called Lisa a psycho.
Miriam kept trying to get them to follow her, but they told them that had to go home, and stay there until tomorrow morning. Miriam told them that they didn't have to do that and they recanted that they did. Miriam left them alone. Later - at Tiffany's home - Tiffany's sister answered the door to see Neil and Neil asked to come in. She let him in and as soon as she turned her back - he lunged at her mauling her death. He turned to see Lisa and Cleo watching as Lewis arrived with a silver stake. Neil stated that he was aware of what they were trying to do as the solution was only temporary. Cleo revealed that she called a friend for advice and proceeded to blow some chilli powder into Neil's face causing it to burn. Cleo whisked him away as Lisa waited to compel the parents.
At the Southern Ocean; Rikki and Emma were sabotaging every effort made to capture whales when Emma used the Liquefication Spell to liquefy the harpoons. She continued despite Rikki's warnings not to get overconfident, but unfortunately she was unable to heed her warnings as she liquefied a passing blue whale effectively killing it. Emma tried to the Reversion Spell, but it only took the object she used it on to a less liquefied state. Both the whale and the harpoon went from liking a puddle to paste. Rikki told her that she warned her, but coldly said that she's just like her mother and doesn't think before acting. Emma retorted that she was nothing like how her mother was and the two proceeded to punch each other which sent a shockwave throughout the water and caused the whales to flee.
Donald Sertori and Bev Sertori were working at the Southbank Newsagency together when Kim and Samantha arrived. Bev was surprised to see Kim and asked why she wasn't glue to her Xbox when Kim replied that she was only have two hours of game time now. Zane walked in with Cam and Lyla asking for a lottery ticket as Kim noticed Cam. She went over to him and began talking to him when Lyla put herself between them. She told him that Cam doesn't go for gamers and told her to back off. Elliot arrived and told her to back off, but Lyla pushed him over and told him that his little crush on Cleo was misplaced and will never go the way he want. Samantha stood up to Lyla and told her that she was pathetic for attacking and minor to which Thomas Kent and Carly Morgan agreed as they arrested her for assault of a minor. Samantha helped him up as Sophie Benjamin arrived and took sympathy on him due to his friendship with her younger brother. Will arrived and took Zane aside to tell him that he doesn't want him around his sister anymore to which Zane accosted him and told him that Sophie can hang with whoever she wants. Will called him toxic and pathetic before walking away.
Cleo and Lisa tied Neil to a chair in Lisa's living room with Lewis binding him with a chilli-laced rope. Lisa tried to talk him into leaving the mayor alone, but he refused. Cleo began having flashbacks of the memories to Miriam which seemed to be fading away. Cleo told them that they should let him starve to try to stop him. Cleo proceeded to look over her book and managed to found a immobility spell. She instructed Lisa to make up five bowls of water and place them at five points around Neil after doing so - she proceed to recite "Vinctum Per Aqua". Cleo read the spell a little more and proceeded to walk over to Neil ripped the rope off before stepping back. Neil attempted to walk past the bowls, but couldn't. Neil asked whether she was safe as he sent a bunch of whalers out to southern ocean for some whaling knowing full well that Rikki and Emma were headed that way after he saw them leave. He also told them that he placed each of the whalers under their own illusion.
Emma emerged on the vessel and attempted to stop one of them, but he instantly became afraid of her which at first Emma thought it was because she hadn't reverted to her human form yet. However, her concerned where immediately put to rest when the whaler called her a Vampire. The Whaler grabbed and stake an ran out as he proceeded to stake her, but Rikki returned after grumbling about Emma's action used the liquefication spell on the wooden stake. Emma proceeded to head but the whaler and noted that they were all under illusions to which Rikki commented that it was because of Neil.
Emma and Rikki returned to Australia and as soon as they were dry - they immediately went to Neil and told him that he was a vile human for what he did. Neil told Emma that she might now know how it feels to be manipulating like how her mother manipulated him into sleeping with her. Lisa tried to defend himself, but Neil told her she can tell someone how they should feel and that he indeed felt violated. Emma noticed bowls of water on the ground and proceeded to spit out of discuss at him and told him to never speak to her again, however, the spit landed in the bowl to which Neil noticed as soon as everyone left. Neil waved his hand and noticed that the barrier was down. Neil noted that the saliva must have undid the boundary spell and thus escaped.
At the Sertori House; Cleo and Lewis were bidding each other farewell when Cleo thanked him for everything. Cleo kissed him on the cheek to which Lewis blushed and responded by kissing her on the lips. Cleo walked the advanced, but ended it as she went inside. Cleo was readying her the book that was left to her at the dead of night when she heard footsteps. She went to check, and a woman was standing at her door. The woman introduced herself as Louise Chatham and asked Cleo whether or not her Grimoire had come in handy with Cleo looking at her confused.
