Caught in the Net is second part of Chapter Two of H2O.
Story[]
Rikki Chadwick made it back to Patricia Gilbert's place and was with Patricia Gilbert and Elliot Gilbert. However, Emma Gilbert awoke in transition as they were going up to her room where Rikki left her. Due to her Mermaid Physiology; she begun puking out water as they observed her state. Emma looked at them and asked what was happening to which Patricia speculated that she was in transition, but was keeping her Merfolk side. Rikki proceeded to perform a spell to try to work out how to complete the transition, but was able to use a spell to communicate with Gracie Watsford and was told that she must drink the blood of one that possessed the blood from three special bloodlines. She revealed that the bloodlines were hers along with Cleo's and Emma's. Cleo Sertori arrived with Elliot, Cleo, and Rikki using their blood to locate Jeff Collins. Zane Bennett went after Jeff Collins and managed to track him to the police station where Terry Chadwick revealed that he was responsible for Samantha Sertori's car crash. Zane used a spell to cut into his arm before gathering his blood in order to give. Emma uses Jeff's blood to complete her transition.
The following day - Emma felt as though her power had weakened as she was talking with Elliot and Patricia. Patricia asked about Jeff Collins and Emma told her that she was going to focus on her new life and told her that she was going to resign from JuiceNet to help at the Southbank Newsagency. Emma left to go outside but Elliot told her that the sunlight will harm her, but she told him that because she's a Hybrid - she's spared that weakness.
At the Sertori House - Kim Sertori and Angela Dubois were having breakfast as Samantha was resting after her resurrection as Cleo was helping her. Lewis McCartney exited Cleo's room while putting on his shirt as he asked her whether she was going to work to which Cleo confirmed as the Aquarium was renamed to the Oceanic Centre. Cleo left as she got to the Oceanic Centre which was now owned by David Lambert after purchasing it after it was repossessed by the bank following Linda's death. David was welcoming a small team of interns into the park with promises of a better pay if they succeed and tasks Sirena to shadow Cleo Sertori before sending them out to do a Marine Safety Check for the upcoming Net Games. Cleo asked what the Net Games was and he looked confused as he told that it was an annual fishing contest exercise in which only nets can be used. Cleo bowed her and told her that it's been a hard couple of days since she's been aiding her sister since the car accident. David offered to let her have the day off but she told him that Samantha basically demanded that she let her rest on her own. Cleo led Sirena to a company owned boat and they sailed over to the contest area.
Rikki was kissing Zane when she heard a customer come into her shop which turned out to be Cam Mitchell and Sophie Benjamin. They ordered a Memory Cleanser. Zane looked confused as she agreed to take their order as she went out to the back to make. She revealed that ever since Thomas Kent had become a Naga - they can't risk him altering the town's memories - so she's been making a juice that incorporated her special blood and cardamom. She proceeded to take a vial of her blood and placed it in the mixer along with a sprinkle of cardamom, some mint and sage, and orange to juice up, and served it to them. Cam started to ask questions, but Zane told him to back off. Carly Morgan entered with Will Benjamin and Jeff Collins tailing behind. Carly revealed that since Jeff officially only have caused minor injuries and was given a reckless driving charge instead of a vehicular manslaughter charge.
Emma arrived at the JuiceNet to hand in her resignation and thanked Rikki for the letting her work for her before telling that she was going to help out the Sertori family at the Southbank Newsagency. She left after givng her hug before meeting up with Kim and Samantha at the Newsagency were they serve a couple of customers. Emma placed her near her water bottle could tell that she could no longer feel the hydrokinetic energy that she could feel before she became a Hybrid. Emma attempted to drink blood from a flask given to her by Patricia that her mother used, but as she drank - she ran to the restroom to puke it back out. Emma was confused as Kim rushed into help her, and Emma told her that she couldn't keep the blood down. Kim told her that since she needed Jeff's special blood to complete transition then she probably needs his kind of blood exclusively. Kim offered her own neck and Emma proceeded to drink it which was able to keep down compared to the blood in her flask. She put a single drop of Kim's blood into the flask and proceeded to drink it and was able to keep it down compared to before.
Meanwhile at Miriam's old place; Thomas Kent was pilfering threw Miriam's old stuff as David and Jeff entered the house. David praised Thomas for his use of Naga abilities to alter the memories of a select few to host the Net Games. David asked why Cleo was unaffected to which Jeff told him that she was of Protector Blood. Jeff told him that he had triggered his curse as according to his instruction before asking for the location of Mako Island. Thomas agreed to his request but told him that the next Full Moon was next month and told him that he still had work for him to which Jeff told him that he killed a kid for him already. Thomas extended his claws, but Jeff reminded him that he was immune to his venom before leaving. Thomas told him to make sure the nets are properly placed in order to capture Cleo.
Cleo and Sirena were diving around the area as the competition was beginning and they used their resources to redirect protected animals when Teddy the Sea Turtle arrived with Bernie the Hermit Crab helping Cleo. Sirena was intrigued by the marine life that was helping Cleo, however, Cleo was unable to save Zita that was thrashing around in the net as Zita began calling out for help which shocked them both. Cleo sent Sirena back to the boat as she went over to Zita. Cleo noticed the rope burn it healing away. Cleo tried to grab it but it would appear that the rope was embedded with witch-hazel. After Zita was brought aboard the boat; Thomas grabbed Zita as he was curious about his lack of resistance before taking a Human form. Zita demanded to that he stopped by Thomas extended his claws before slashing him across the throat causing him to die as a result. Cleo was about to reveal herself to Sirena when Lyla McCartney arrived and swam in her Mermaid directly in front of them before using a swedish Molecular Combustion Spell causing a section of the nets from Thomas's boat to explode and drop to the ground. Cleo went into save Teddy as Bernie told her to stop, but it too late as she was caught in the nets which continued to harm her because of the witch-hazel. Lyla noticed that the goggles Cleo was using was actually Emma's and used the Water Communication Spell to contact Emma and ask for her help.
Using her new Vampire abilites - she sped to ocean and proceeded to swim at even faster speeds to get to Thomas's boat. Thomas intercepted her and tried to attack her, but Emma was able to dodge his attack and proceeded to get away by headbutting him. Emma tried to the save Cleo as Lyla distracted, however, Bernie proceeded to transform into a human male and proceeded to help save her before telling them get away from the area. They each left.
At Patricia Gilbert's house; Emma and Cleo were drying themselves off when Cleo asked why she didn't try to do magic to which Emma revealed that she has since lost the ability to use magic after becoming a Hybrid. Emma told her that the feeling that she once had while swimming was different and vacant. Rikki arrived to hug Cleo and asked what happened, however, neither of them could answer the question.
Elsewhere on Mako Island; Thomas was coordinating with a group of Treasure Hunters as had uncovered a white Mermaid statue in the Pacific Ocean. He also asked for his due and they gave him a vial containing the venom of 20 of the world's deadliest snakes. They asked what kind of project he was undergoing to which he told them that some questions are better left unanswered.
