Not much info is known Elijah only that his brother is ace and that he has anger management problems. Once a two women asked him what he would like to buy from a convenience store twice because she believed he couldn't hear him so for this he ended her human life and turned her into a Vampire for being annoying, their names were Emily Chase and Elizabeth Chase. While in transition Elijah would shortly come back to kill the both of them. Ace falls into Darius Salvatore's Bloodline because, Ace turned Elijah, and Elijah turned Emily and Elizabeth Chase. But aside from all of that information very little is actually known about him.
In the 1800s Elijah is hunted by Rami Mikaelson and Rayna Cruz, and is later sealed in The Phoenix Stone.
