Evil Shall Perish was the first episode of the third season of Legacies and the twenty-ninth episode of the series overall. Sadly though it was deleted and was replaced by the episode known as Salvatore: The Musical.

Summary[]

DARIUS SALVATORE RETURNS AS THE VILLAINOUS-LIKE CHARACTER MANY HAVE COME TO KNOW AND LOVE — When a flashback gives a glimpse into the past (Prominently The 1700s) it shows a bloodlusted Ripper-Darius killing multiple civilians in a massacre. This leads to Alexandria Salvatore trying to kill him and end his life which results in a fearsome and spontaneous battle.

Plot[]

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Cyrus killing the vampire hunter

An image of Cyrus Salvatore killing the Vampire Hunter Malcolm Salter in The 1700s that turned out to be a member of the brotherhood of the five.

Dorian and Alaric stumble across skeletons that have been fed on and showed marks of burn-age, presumably to hide the evidence. Dorian suggests that it may not be the Salvatore Students, however, Alaric finds a Salvatore crest entirely different from the ones he gives his students near one of the bodies, signifying that it may not be a student after all. After this a flashback would commence. In this flashback it shows events that happened 320 years prior in the modern-day in Legacies.

In this flashback Darius Salvatore finishes a massacre alongside his brother Cyrus Salvatore as they start burning the bodies to cover their tracks. Through all of the bodies a young Vampire hunter (who turns out to be one of The Five (A member of The Brotherhood of the Five) named Malcolm Salter (son to Edward Montgomery) appears from a clearing and is killed by Cyrus. When killed a flashback within a flashback happens and it shows how Malcolm died exactly like his father (By Heart Extraction).

Moments later, Alexandria Salvatore tries to kill Darius and Cyrus while fighting alongside a revived Ace Dubois (through the use of magic) though they're both stopped by Cyrus and Darius respectively while working together. After this Alexandria would jump into the air, as she started to build up hatred towards her children. As she jumps onto the ground it starts to shake and rumble. Then it shows multiple souls coming up from the ground (presumably hell) as Darius and Cyrus look in fear. Multiple bodies appear and come to life. The souls of dead inhabit these bodies and they attack Darius and Cyrus. All of their adversaries leading up to that point were there back and looking for revenge. The two brothers would fight alongside each other in order to defeat them all, although they proved to be quite strong. The scene then jumps two days later and by now Darius and Cyrus have defeated most of them. It actually brought them a lot of memories though most of them are defeated. When their opponents realize that they are outnumbered by Darius' and Cyrus' strength they run away, only to be put back into the ground by a weakened Alexandria. It turned out that through the use of magic she resurrected most of the souls though it took a considerable amount of stamina on her end. Alexandria stands with the last of her energy and infuriates Darius by disrespecting his children. This causing Darius to become furious and causes him to decapitate his mother. After returning due to her immortality she is shown still weak and drained of stamina. The scene cuts and shows Alexandria chained up in the shape of a crucifix and her being quite exhausted. She is shown with visible wounds and heavy circulation on her arms. Under her eyes are black and have bags which signifies that she was losing sleep, her body was bloodied and had some dirt on it all over. After a few seconds Alexandria would be fed an apple by Darius accompanied by wine. 7 days later Darius would hire several Bennett witches in order to seal their mother and stop her from attempting anything that could end her children's lives. A witch explains that the seal can only be unleashed if a Bennett witch or Salvatore tries to open it (though it is most effective if there was ever a Salvatore-Bennet Hybrid. The scene then goes back to modern-day as Alaric thinks back to the book by the title of Sebastian The Merciless, recounting the tales of the Vampire Sebastian. He remembered a passage within the book that explained a Vampire named Darius Salvatore; albeit briefly. Alaric recalled a page that said he would often leave his Salvatore crests on his victims, though sometimes he would also burn the bodies. While thinking back to the time, Alaric believed that Darius was the killer and the bodies were from all those centuries ago. Alaric explains what he believed happened to Dorian, and he agreed, stating that it may in fact be true, as Dorian shows Alaric a book regarding Darius. Alaric and Dorian show faces of shock and closure as the frame zooms out and looks at the bright lunar moon; the episode ends.
