Kaitlyn Gibson is a Preeminent Vampire. She is the adoptive sister of Darius Salvatore.
Early History[]
Birth[]
Kaitlyn lived with her father and mother until they died. Two of the many siblings of Francis Gibson, Kaitlyn is left orphaned, although is saved by Francis, being taken in and adopted.
Astafor, Norway 1095[]
Kaitlyn's parents were killed by Werewolf Hunters, leaving her orphaned and afraid. She is later taken under her aunt and uncles wing.
Great Britain, 1099 - 1102[]
Kaitlyn and her family move, starting Kaitlyn's interest in swords. This would further evolve and would cause Kaitlyn to want to become a knight. Because she was too young (6 years old), Kaitlyn would wait and at 11 years old she would start training. Sometime in between 6-11 years old Kaitlyn begs Darius Salvatore to stay and not go to fight, causing him to wait 4 months before he departed. She would later train so hard to one day become a knight. Upon learning that women were unable to become a knight she would want to become a Dame (the women equivalent).
The Kingdom of Norway, 1109[]
In 1109 Kaitlyn would participate in The Norwegian Crusade and would fight valiantly. Her notoriety was so great that it instilled fear in even the most mightiest of men. She grew quite notorious and because of it many people attempted to her life, to no avail. Also in the same year Kaitlyn learns her first spell.
Returning Home, 1110[]
She would begin her returning to her home in the fall of 1110 and would dock a ship in 1111.
The Ambush, 1111[]
Whilst returning home Kaitlyn and her men are ambushed by a group of bandits led by a man named Aaron. The group kills most of the men on the ship though Kaitlyn kicks them all into the water, ending the lives of the others left upon the ship. Caught up in the mayhem Kaitlyn did not realize up until this point that she had suffered severe damage to her abdominal region and chest. She was hurt and all the pain was hitting her at once. No magic seemed to heal it and she was beginning to get worrisome. She then tells the captain of the boat to take her home and he does so. When she comes home her wounds are looked at by "her mother", and she deduces that Kaitlyn has an infection. Possibly from the blade or leaving the wound out for too long. Darius Salvatore returns to his home in the same year and heals Kaitlyn of her wounds with his new vampire blood.
Kaitlyn's First Death[]
Hours later, Kaitlyn is tracked down and would be found and killed by Xanthe (a gun for hire). Xanthe then leaves and after this with Darius' blood still in her system Kaitlyn would awaken as a Transitioning Vampire. Kaitlyn confused in transition would not be able to resist her lust for blood and would kill Francis Gibson, leading to his second death.
Becoming a member of The Order[]
Not long after she becomes a Vampire and starts to get used to it Kaitlyn is recruited to the order.
Kaitlyn vs Angelica - 1811[]
Kaitlyn would become recognized within The Order though in 1811 she would be caught off guard and attacked by Angelica (a witch influenced by the ideas of Carmen). The two fight and because she caught Kaitlyn off guard, Kaitlyn began to lose. Kaitlyn would then use the utmost of her abilities and would overpower Angelica. Lacking sympathy for Angelica (as she attacked her out of the blue), Kaitlyn would gouge into Angelica's chest and would rip out her heart. This, accompanied by blood loss would kill Angelica.
Becoming a member of The Darius Force[]
After killing Angelica she soon rose up the ranks and when Darius realized who she was he was quite shocked and gave her a lead position within The Darius Force. When she became a member she would become a Preeminent Vampire.
Physical Appearance[]
Kaitlyn is 5'9, has blonde hair, blue eyes, and has a petite-like build though still muscular.
Clothing[]
She dresses in whatever she sees fit and depending on the era her clothing can change drastically. For instance in the 11th Century Kaitlyn clothing consisted of an undertunic called a chemise, chainse or smock, usually of linen, over which she wore one or more ankle-to-floor length tunics (also called dresses or kirtles). Though she could also be seen wearing her tunics ankle-length and belted at the waist (in order to signify that she's a working-class women). On other occasions she wore (In the early 18th century) a dress known as a mantua for formal occasions. The mantua was an open-fronted silk or fine wool gown with a train and matching petticoat. The train was worn looped up over the hips to reveal the petticoat. In the 21st Century Kaitlyn wears very casual clothing though changes to luxurious attire for special events and occasions.
Personality[]
Kaitlyn can be kind, fast thinking, moving and caring. Upon killing "her father" Kaitlyn showed great distress and grief, even crying and trying to help her father. She also showed that she was very scared when she became a Vampire and she was visually anxious. Kaitlyn also demonstrated that she had little sympathy for Angelica after she blatantly tried to kill her and extracted her heart. She cares deeply for her family and friends, not letting much interfere with it.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a witch, Kaitlyn was knowledgeable in various spells, though she rarely used spells. The only known account of her using a spell was when she performed a longevity spell upon herself in order to stunt her aging. As a member of The Gibson Family Kaitlyn's magical prowess were practically a natural affinity.
As a Vampire, Kaitlyn's emotions skyrocketed and she became very angry easier. All of her witch abilities were taken (due to becoming a Vampire), although her physical abilities all increased.
As a Preeminent Vampire her power was increased by Several folds. Kaitlyn possesses all the standard powers and abilities of a non-Original Preeminent vampire. She has shown himself to be an experienced fighter and combatant, that is easily able to subdue her enemies. Being that Kaitlyn is over 900 years of age, she is an old and powerful vampire (even by Vampire standards).
Weaknesses[]
As a witch, Kaitlyn's weaknesses as a Witch proved to almost be fatal, as her mortality and non-existant healing factor led to her death as a mortal (witch).
As a Vampire, Kaitlyn's Weaknesses were of the typical Vampire.
As a Preeminent Vampire she has all of the weaknesses of being one.
Name[]
Kaitlyn is a variant of Caitlin (Irish, Gaelic), Kaitlin and Katherine (Greek), and the meaning of Kaitlyn is "pure". Devotion to Saint Catherine came to Ireland with Christianity.
Trivia[]
- Within the early late 10th Century Kaitlyn's parents would die from unknown circumstances and this would result in her being taken care of by her aunt and uncle.
- Kaitlyn was raised by Alexandria Salvatore and Francis Gibson.
- Kaitlyn killed Francis Gibson (his second death).
- In order to stunt her aging Kaitlyn used a Longevity Spell (as a Witch).
