Kateona is one of the earliest known ancestors of the Gibson Family and was also a Witch. Kateona is the creator of Kateona's Memoirs and is coined as a very influential figure for all of history.
Early Life[]
Birth[]
She was born in 2604 BC though that is generally all that is known regarding her birth.
As a Child[]
In her biography she mentions that as a child she was forced into labour though she was learning from an Unknown Witch on how to use magic. By 7 she would cast her first spell and by 9 she would become adept at the arts of magic. At 10 her mentor-like figure died and was killed. Because of this she would break out of captivity and would free herself. Many events happen after, leading up to her eventual abandonment of her homeland (Unknown Part of Italy).
As an Adult[]
By the age of 18 Kateona trained new found witches and would meet an unknown man who she would have a child with (and later many others). It was also believed that between the ages of 20-27 she would stunt her aging using a Longevity Spell. Shortly after this point Kateona became fascinated with Immortality.
San Marino, 7th Century BC[]
After the longevity spell was wearing off she tracked down an ancient chalice with her sister (Tatiana), known as The Cup of Eternal Life. She would drink it with Tatiana and the two would become Immortal.
900 A.D[]
Kateona embarks on the land and establishes what would become known as modern-day Spain.
In 900 A.D Kateona would have a child with an Unnamed Witch and would birth two more children. Her second child with this man was a boy and he is the father of Francis Gibson.
1079 CE[]
Kateona ensures that Darius Salvatore is born and nothing happens that disrupts the pregnancy.
1512, The Creation of Spain[]
Within an unknown point within the 1400s Kateona would engage within a battle between the Christian kingdoms, fighting alongside the Moors. This lasted until 1492, and in 1512 the unification of present-day Spain was completed by Kateona and unnamed others. During the 16th century, Spain became the most powerful nation in Europe, due to the immense wealth derived from their possessions in the Americas. Kateona became known as The Queen of Spain and would reign over the country until 1571.
1517, Rayna's Army[]
In 1517 Kateona takes over Rayna's Army for Rayna, leading to the groups "fake downfall".
1572 CE[]
Kateona is severely weakened by the mineral Kiatero.
In 1572 the Primordial known as Ryker would appear in Spain. He terrorized the people there for the better part of a decade. Getting tired of this treatment of her people, Kateona would almost kill Ryker, before he escaped (due to her sparring him). Ryker, still vengeful because of what happened, would obtain the mineral known as Kiatero. Ryker, knowing that this wounds Kateona severely, would use it against her and would attempt to kill her with The Sword of Alexandria as well as Kiatero powder. Ryker obtained the sword by stealing it from an unknown human. After slicing Kateona Ryker would kick her in he stomach and would throw her, causing her to land in the middle of a newly-built man-made creek. Ryker then stabs and seals Kateona, as she would then break out by getting into the mind of Ryker (via her psychic abilities), and forcing him to free her. Upon doing so she fights Ryker and temporarily stops his heart, before compelling him to leave Spain. Kateona later falls to the ground and shortly after this wakes back up. Her wounds did not heal and it continued to hurt her heavily. Kateona then gets a bracelet and necklace that protects her against the effects of Kiatero, not long after this point
Cadiz, Spain - 1654[]
Kateona becomes the leader of Rayna's Army and walks with her fellow members to kill unnamed werewolves.
After learning that Spain was under attack by Japanese men, Kateona would kill them without sympathy and would devastate their numbers. This display proved to Kateona's people that she was quite strong and showed the Japanese to not fight with Spain or it would be sure defeat.
Kateona's Desiccation[]
In 1942 Kateona decides that she will participate in the second World War (WW2), although after 3 years of fighting (1945) Kateona would become bored and would self dessicate. She would not do this before telling her sister to wake her up in 5 decades. Tatiana wakes Kateona back upin 1997, a mere 2 years later than Kateona would've liked. Amazed by the modern world, Kateona would become an actress and has been one since then.
Personality[]
Kateona is a fierce woman who protected her people. She is feared whilst also beloved and continuously is cited as kind-hearted. Also in order to save her descendants she gave up her own well-being of herself, meaning that she is not selfish and cares about her legacy. While hurt by the effects of Kiatero, Kateona seems visibly scared and cannot accept the fact that she is about to die. When she realizes that her wounds fail to heal she gets noticeably more fearful and is surprised that the wounds that once healed no longer did such things.

Physical Appearance[]
Kateona has pale skin, green eyes, and long dark brown hair. She has a toned build and is of average height. Kateona appears to be in her mid-teens, whilst actually being over 1000s upon thousands 1000s of Millenia in age. She bears a similar appearance to both her mother and her sister, though she and Tatiana are half-siblings. In the original script of The Vampire Diaries novel, she is depicted and described as strikingly beautiful.
Powers and Abilities[]
Kateona ruthlessly kills unknown Japanese men for her people
- Immortality: as an Immortal, she is Immortal and does not age, nor can die. Even if she is killed she will shortly resurrect.
- Superhuman Strength: Kateona has enhanced strength. She was easily able to defeat unknown warriors in Italy, San Marino, and even Samurai in what would become known as modern-day Kyoto, Japan, as well as Minato, Japan.
- Superhuman Speed: Kateona has super speed. Kateona was already fast prior to becoming an Immortal though because of her Immortality she was granted with abnormal super speed, faster than most vampires.
- Healing Factor: Kateona has shown that she can heal almost any and all injuries. Her accelerated healing is so great that when her arm was sliced off by the samurai known as Kinamon Takahashi, Kateona grew it back and it was if she had gotten back to full strength, as she then killed Kinamon.
- Procreation: Due to her drinking from The Cup of Eternal Life Kateona is still able to have offspring and progeny of her own.
- Advanced Mind Compulsion: Similarly to Vampires, Kateona has the ability to compel the minds of others (i.e Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, etc). Her mind compulsion is so powerful that she was able to tell Darius Salvatore to not trust her and to leave as she did not want him to get hurt.
- Advanced Immunity: Kateona possesses a caliber of immortality that grants her immunity to practically all weaknesses. They're immune to wooden weapons, sunlight, vervain, werewolf bites, decapitation, heart extraction or fire and are able to walk freely into a home without being invited by the owner first. Their bodies are said to be completely indestructible.
- Telepathy: Kateona has the ability to enter into the minds of another to read their thoughts and access their memories just by being in the same vicinity as them. However, it is not a passive ability of hers, as Kateona failed to realize that Tatiana intended on sealing herself with Kateona until it was too late, suggesting that it takes conscious effort on her part to activate and sift through memories and thoughts. This ability can also have its drawbacks if the user accidentally reveals information that they are not supposed to know, which can blow their cover if they are trying to appear as someone else.
- Illusions: Kateona occasionally utilizes the power to create powerful illusions. She are able to use these illusions on anyone she desires, no matter how powerful. The ability to cause illusions also allows a form of shapeshifting, since she can cause beings to believe that they are seeing the Immortal in the form of another. Her powers can be used on multiple people in multiple locations simultaneously. She can keep themselves at a physically safe distance while casting illusions. The illusions have been proven sufficient against many vampires capable of brute force.
- Voice Mimicry: When she uses her illusions to appear as someone else, she is able to change her voice to whatever she wants.
- Appearance Mimicry: Along with her voice in addition to her appearance to trick her victims into believing that they are truly who they are pretending to be she can change her appearance.
- Psychic Pain Infliction: Similar to witches with their pain infliction spells, Kateona is able to inflict illusory psychic pain on her victims.
- Enhanced Reflexes: Kateona possesses enhanced reflexes which allows her to unconsciously react faster than humans to stimulus.
- Super Durability: Kateona is indestructible, she is highly resistant to pain and can take a great amount of damage without succumbing to physical injury. On one occasion, Kateona stabbed herself through the chest with a bronze sword in order to also stab Tatiana during a fight, who had her in a headlock, with only minimum flinching. He was also shot several times in the chest by a hunting rifle and was only annoyed by the hassle.
- Enhanced Senses: Kateona has a keen sense of hearing, sight, smell, taste, touch, and perception that exceed those of humans although, the degree of which is still unknown .
Weaknesses[]
Despite being truly immortal and being incredibly powerful in her own right, Kateona (like other immortals) does not possess some weaknesses, as Nature requires a balance and will not allow any living thing to be truly invulnerable.
- Broken Neck: Breaking Kateona's neck will result in unconsciousness of said immortal until her regenerative healing ability kicks in and repairs the damage to the spinal cord.
- The Cure: If Kateona takes the cure, she will become witch and mortal again.
- Desiccation: If Kateona abstains from blood for extended amounts of time she will eventually desiccate into mummification. Desiccation can also be caused by magic in order to incapacitate Kateona.
- Kiatero: When Kateona is near the mineral known as Kiatero she instantly becomes less stronger (about 50% of her regular power) and if it is used on her in different forms (i.e powder form, weapon form, etc), it will do the same thing. The Primordial Werewolf known as Ryker would use the mineral to get revenge on Kateona.
- Doppelgängers: This proved to be Silas and Amara's biggest weaknesses. As doppelgängers were created to offset the balance caused by the existence of a truly immortal being, they can be used to invoke linking spells that bind them to the immortal progenitor of their line, along with their fellow doppelgängers. If a powerful witch is able to link an immortal to one or more of their respective doppelgängers, it will allow them to take away the immortal's psychic abilities, leaving them, in the words of Jeremy Gilbert, less powerful than even a regular vampire. Kateona is reppeelent against this though since she obtained her immortality in a separate way, though she is still susceptible to those forms of weakness.
- Doppelgänger Blood Magic: Magic Created using Doppelgängers.
- Hunter's Curse: While the Hunter's Curse still affects an immortal upon the death of a Supernatural hunter, Silas claimed to have found a way to beat it within minutes, likely due in part to his extensive knowledge of witchcraft, as the curse was created by one of the witch descendants of Qetsiyah.
- Upgraded Hunter's Curse: Because it is the upgraded form of The Hunter's Curse, evidently it would be just as bad, if not worse.
Name[]
Kateona (Pronounced: Kah·Te·Ah·Na) is a name created by Kateona's mother. It means Pure Queen and is derived from the names Katrina (Meaning: Pure) and Tatiana (Roughly Meaning: Queen) Tatiana has also been known as a name that refers to the Roman clan name "Tatius", though whilst creating the name Kateona's mother did not get inspiration from the name as it did not mean anything of that sort within that era.
