Korun

Korun is a Primordial vampire created by Mal-El back in 5th century BC. Korun was also best friends with him and after becoming a vampire he preferred to be called an Old One.

Early History[]

Gaul - 5th Century B.C[]

Korun was born in in 5th century BC within Gaul. When Korun became 16 he was captured and enslaved. Korun had suffered extreme cruelty from the human race while still human. One day he met Mal-El and they became friends, like brothers. While trying to escape from his masters he was seriously injured and was on the verge of dying. Mal-El wanting to save his friend performed the original version of the Immortality Spell on him. Once he became a vampire he took revenge on the ones who had treated him so poorly.

Ancient Rome - 61 B.C[]

Korun plotted the downfall of Julius Caesar and the fall of the Roman Empire. Korun became a self proclaimed spirit of vengeance and believed humans were incapable of redemption, killing any human who had done anything wrong. Mal-El eventually left him because he became disgusted by the creature he created but he refused to kill him because he was like his brother and believed Korun could redeem himself.

Sometime (about 700 years later) Korun became more sympathetic and started a path of redemption.

The First Crusade - 1099[]

Korun fights in The First Crusade alongside Darius Salvatore, although the two barely see each other, merely exchanging names.

Athens, Greece - 1104[]

In 1104 Korun meets a women named Aminah. She intrigues him and throughout the 12th Century the two get to know one another. Leading into 1117 Korun and Aminah become romantically entangled with each other and later marry in december of the same year.

Sometime in between 1169 - 1540 The two move to Hungary.

The Kingdom of Hungary - 1576[]

In 1576 (the anniversary between Korun and Aminah), Korun would return home. When he did he stumbled across a trail of blood leading into the main room of Korun and Aminah's home. Korun became worrisome, though pushed forward to see a dead Aminah with blood leaking from her neck, instantly knowing that it was the work of a Vampire. Korun yells out to the air with no response, although not from him, he can smell someone near his surroundings. He calls out again, though this time there was a response. A man that appeared no over 27. His clothing consisted of a linen shirt with ruff and matching wrist ruffs, which were laundered with starch to be kept stiff and bright. Over the shirt he wore a doublet with long sleeves sewn or laced in place. Korun saw blood coming down from his mouth and realised what had occured. After asking if he was a Vampire, the man revealed his name to be Darius and would state the obvious (that was in fact a Vampire). Korun growls and the two clash. Fierce strikes almost obliterate Korun's stone home as the two continue to exchange blows. Darius then pushes Korun back and tells Korun that his wife "tasted splendid". This infuriates him which causing Darius to get the drop on him, before pulling out Kiatero powder from his pocket. He then douses it onto Korun, who is already weakened from the mineral being within his presence. Darius then runs upon Korun's wall in order to gain momentum, before kicking Korun directly in his neck, breaking it.

Korun would wake up moments later and would mourn his dead wife, casting a deep hatred for Darius Salvatore to boil within him.

Personality[]

Korun's personality as a human is completely unknown. However, for the first 1,000 years he lived as a vampire, he was a violent, bloodthirsty savage with no regard for human life. He was also a believer in moral nihilism. During his life he learned how to sympathize with humans and became more honorable, marrying a werewolf name Aminah. He also counts every vampire born from his bloodline as member of his family and treats them as such.

The name Korun is Celtic for Raven.

Abilities[]

Due to the fact he was created by the original version of the Immortality Spell and that he is over 2,000 years old, he is one of the most powerful beings on the planet.

Immortality: The act of not aging, or succumbing to any human illnesses. The only way for him to die is for Mal-El to kill him or if Mal-El dies.

Super Strength: Due to his advanced age Korun is more powerful than the Originals and mostly other supernaturals. So far he is only surpassed by Mal-El and the Primordials.

Super Speed: He is faster than the Originals, vampires, and werewolves. So far his speed is surpassed by Mal-El and the Primordials.

Super Senses: Vampires have extremely keen senses of hearing, sight and smell. Korun however has a much more keen sense of each and so his version is likely even more superior.

Telepathy: He has the power to read the minds of others.

Super Durability: Korun can take far more trauma than other vampires, werewolves, and humans can without much discomfort or injury.

Mind Compulsion: Korun can compel the minds of vampires, humans, and hybrids.

Weather Control: He has the supernatural ability to influence meteorological energy patterns, creating rain, wind, hail, lightning, snow, sleet, fog and temperature changes.

Flight: Korun has the extremely unique ability to fly. Only vampires from his bloodline posses this ability.
Animal Control: The supernatural ability can handle all kinds of wild animals or domestic. Normally you can only control a species at a time.
Shapeshifting: The supernatural ability to alter and change the physical form of ones self.
Illusion: It is capable of disrupting the reality of one or more things at once. The Illusion is limited, since it uses a short time but because the neutralization of the enemy and does not usually give orders to the victims.

Weaknesses[]

Magic: Magic can be used to stop him but it can't kill him.

Desiccation: If he doesn't feed on blood then his body will feed on its self and will become immobilize.

In Ulfus Annulos: The In Ulfus Annulos can be used to seal him away.

Zombie Bite/Blood: A bite from a zombie won't kill him nor will its blood but it will weaken him temporarily.
Silver: When he comes in contact with silver it will burn his flesh and can be used to bind him.
Invitation: He needs an invitation to enter a human's house.
Broken Neck: While Korun's neck can be broken it will heal in a matter of moments. Despite this when his neck is broken he momentarily dies, before springing back to life.
Fire/Sunlight: Sunlight can't kill him but it will weaken and burn him.
Kiatero: Using the mineral known as Kiatero you can extremely weaken Korun. Darius Salvatore used the item on Korun and documented all of the weaknesses he could pick up on whilst fighting him. According to Darius (as well as old folklore), even if Kiatero is in Korun's vicinity it will weaken him severely.
The Darius Stone Sword: If stabbed with The Darius Stone Sword Korun will become weak as his essence and magical power is absorbed into the stone, sealing him within.
The Sword of Alexandria: This powerful blade will neutralize him similarly to the Darius Stone Sword.
The Phoenix Stone Sword: It is one of the only weapons capable of incapacitating him.
The Cure: If he takes the cure then he will lose his immortality.
Mal-El/Bloodline: As the source of his immortality, Mal-El is one of the only ones who can kill him. If Mal-El dies then he and everyone in his bloodline will die and perish within hours.
