Lachlan Sigurdsson is the second son of Gorm the Old.

Early History[]

Childhood[]

Much is known regarding Lachlan and his history. He was born to Gorm the Old, making him the great grandson of Sigurd Snake-in-the-eye, and a descendant of Ragnar Lothbrok. As a great grandson of Sigurd Snake-in-the-eye, Lachlan learned to always work hard and was taught the ways of great viking warriors. He was born in March of 1085 near what would later become Astafor Hill. In his childhood, Lachlan became friends with a young werewolf boy named Darius. This friendship would later be influential in Lachlan's conquest for Sweden, and Darius' conquest in Norway.

The Norwegian Crusade, 1107-1110 A.D.[]

By this point, Lachlan had become very influential, and had established himself in the Norwegian court. As Ragnar Lothbrok's descendant, Lachlan often referred to himself as a "Son of Ragnar". Later, Lachlan would be appointed as a Jarl of Agder. In the year 1107, Sigurd Magnusson (King of Norway) launched the Norwegian Crusade, accompanied by his favourite Jarl, Lachlan.

Throughout the Crusade, Lachlan saved Magnusson's life a handful of times. Lachlan and Magnusson's forces came to the town of Santiago de Compostela (Jakobsland) in Galicia (Galizuland) where they were allowed by a local lord to stay for the winter. However, when the winter came there was a shortage of food, which caused the lord to refuse to sell food and goods to the Norwegians. Sigurd and Lachlan gathered their armies, attacked the lord's castle and looted what they could there. The identity of the local lord or count is uncertain. During the raid, Sigurd is caught between two blades. It would be Lachlan who saves the king from imminent peril.

Again, later on in the crusade, in Lisbon, Lachlan saves Sigurd's life once more.

In Palestine, the Norsemen were very successful and conquered with ease. On an island near Palestine, Lachlan is reunited with his childhood friend Darius Salvatore. With convincing from Lachlan, Sigurd Magnusson finds that Darius can be a very valuable asset to their cause, and recruits him to their crusade. With this addition, Norway's forces grow even larger, making their quest even easier.
