Luck Always Runs Out is the sixteenth part of Chapter One and the sixteenth overall of the Omega Chronicles.

Plot[]

David Phoenix and Olga Milkov sat across from each other as David was in awe of not just her resurrection, but also at the fact that she's now an Original. Meanwhile, Alaric Saltzman was confronted by the fact that Josie Saltzman and Lizzie Saltzman were also Originals. They were able to produce Daylight Rings for Olga and Æthelwulf while Pádraig and Jerick were enjoying a bottle of Irish Whiskey with one another. Padraig began telling Jerick all about his kind with him being a rare Humanoid variant of Leprechaun while monster are the type trapped by Malivore. Gemini revealed to Padraig that in another universe - Malivore has just been trapped in a Prison World, and its captive monsters are trying to escape.

Aries walked the streets of Salem as she was confronted by the local Coven. Stacey Masters told her that they've found about her killing members of their coven and Salem's Supernatural Court. Aries told him that it was a necessary evil to help her sister. Stacey asked why she's been killing people around town to which Aries confusingly responds that she's kill no one, but witches. Stacey attempted to tranquillise her, but she instead remained unaffected by it before rushing at Stacey and attempted to punch him but was stopped by Virgo. Virgo punched her sister before leaving with her as Stacey remained confused as to why the tranquilliser failed as it was specifically created to work on all supernatural creatures regardless of what they were. Stacey knows that he can't let her go unchecked due to it being the third-most code of the Supernatural Court for him to apprehend her.

After waking up after having his neck snapped by David; Angelo were approached by Sheriff Mac and her daughter, and proceeded to maul them to death to vent his frustrations by David. Angelo turned his attention a couple of Maya's friends and proceeded to devour them.

Angelo Frascone helped Yashvi Venkatesh perform a locator spell and decided to go after Rajesh Tripathi and Aethelwulf as Angelo was frustrated with Aries turning him, however, Æthelwulf managed to prevent him by blocking him from entering the depot. Angelo battled him using Magic was able to overpower him briefly, however, Aethelwulf gained the upperhand with a punch to gut, however, Angelo tried to maul him only for Aethelwulf to force him to stop by stabbing him in the throat with a brass nail. By the sunrise; Angelo awoke in transition and began stumbling out of the depot only to be met by the blinding sunlight.

David and Rajesh went over to a cafe with Pádraig and was saved when he stopped a number of Witch-Rakshasa Hybrids, but David was able to decapitate some them with a brass sword. Anywhere they went; Padraig was with them interfering with Yashvi's goals. Yashvi was growing annoyed by the second even when Aries continued to refuse to help her. Aries became fed up with her constant attempts to force her to comply with Cancer's deal.

Anika, Yashvi, and a five Rakshasa managed to track Padraig down in an alley and told him that his constant interference was unwelcomed and demanded that he stop, however, Padraig refuses to let her kill his friends and attempted to attack her with a brass knife only for her to catch his hand, attack him with iron and pressed a shamrock against his face before presenting a stake fashioned from a sessil oak to him before staking him in the heart through the back. Padraig told her she won't get away with his death as the colour drained from his skin before dropping to the ground.

Elsewhere - David had managed to get Annunciata Gaccione awakened only to pretend to be a hallucination in order to try get her to kill herself, but he was knocked out by Anika following her return to from killing Padraig. Anika placed Nuncia back into her slumber before walking off to go after Rajesh.

Jerick managed to locate a Hybrid attempting capture Rajesh, but as soon the Hybrid revealed that Angelo sent him - Jerick decapitated the Hybrid with a brass knife before mentioning to Rajesh that he found his little armoury at his apartment. Rajesh proceeded to tell him that when he came to town he proceeded to use his abilities to steal some brass from Salem's museum and melted them down into brass stakes, brass arrowheads, and brass knives. He also revealed that he was attacked by a Rakshasa but he managed to stake the Rakshasa with one of his brass stakes. Rajesh revealed that he attempt to feast on the Rakshasa, but was stopped by the Hybrid that Jerick just killed. With help from Gemini; Jerick used a locator spell to find Angelo and found him at a construction yard where he attempt to maul Aethelwulf again, but due to being in transition - he couldn't feed. Angelo ran away as he was confused that he was no longer a Rakshasa or Witch as the realisation came to him that one can't be a Rakshasa and a Vampire just as one can't be a Witch and a Vampire.

David tried calling Padraig, but was unable to reach him. Rajesh arrived with David ready to greet him, but was shocked to see what was with Rajesh was carrying with Gemini and Virgo rushing behind. Rajesh placed by his body on a table and David noticed the stake in his heart which Virgo revealed that only a Sessil Oak can kill Padraig's type of Leprechaun. Olga, Aethelwulf, and Jerick arrived and they began their goodbyes to Padraig as David stewed in anger at the loss.

Angelo knocked at the door of Yashvi's hideout, however, Yashvi was able to recognise that he was no longer a Hybrid and told him that he was now attempted to decapitate with a sword, but David grabbed the blade and forced himself past Angelo. David proceeded to kick Yashvi into a wall before proceeding to battle members of the Coven. David used every brass object that he brought with him to kill 24 of the Witch-Rakshasa Hybrids before proceeding to burst into a room armed with a brass stake and proceeded to lunge at Anika Bhavsar. She tried to use her magic against him, but failed before being staked in the heart by David's stake.

Yashvi managed to escape from her demise and proceeded to met with Aries to get her to help in killing David with Aries getting annoyed at her persistence and presented her with a Mokujin in the shape of a samurai. Yashvi told her that she was glad that she was finally holding up her sister's deal. As Yashvi exited Aries' place; Yashvi received a phone call from Akshay Venkatesh; her brother explaining to her that he knows that everyone under her command was killed along with Angelo Frascone being turned into a Vampire. He told her that he was coming to town as he turned to Lucas Frascone, Maria Frascone, and Vera Frascone as he told them to back their bags. Vera and Maria contemplated the time they were killed by their cousin and turned into Rakshasa.

Back at the hideout; Angelo grabbed a blood bag from Rajesh as he entered the hideout and proceeded to feed in order to complete his transition. Angelo cried that he wouldn't be forgiven for being turned into a Vampire despite it being against his will - it won't matter as he'll never be able to return being a Hybrid.
