Lycans are the "prototype" versions of the werewolves and listed as one of The Ancient Ones unlike their present day counterparts they have no human form and must use human skin to take on a human form. They do this by murdering humans and wearing their skin as their own. Their bite permanently transforms humans, witches, werewolves and vampires in wolves. However other Ancient Ones seem immune.
