The Merfolk, once were called Water Spirits in Ancient time, are legendary aquatic creates with fish-like tails from the waist down. They are the Omega Universe counterparts to Merpeople.
History[]
The genesis of Merfolk date back to 2 AD when Virgo began rescuing abandon children and giving them new lives as Merfolk after letting them swim in the Moon Pool. However, 20 years later - the Merfolk at the time wanted revenge for being abandoned and tried to go after they family, and as a result Virgo imprisoned them all in the 22 Prison World. Many of them had were forced to the age of 20 while Cancer tutored them.
2009 years later - Cleo Sertori, Emma Gilbert, and Rikki Chadwick would become latest of people to become Mermaids after venturing to Mako Island and falling into the Moon Pool.
Physiology[]
Merfolk are mammalian, warm-blooded creatures. Unlike; their counterparts from H20 series; they have a gill on right side of their neck. Male Merfolk are called Merman while female Merfolk are called Mermaids. Merman have a light grey scaled-tails while Mermaids have orange scaled-tails.

Merfolk are a capable of reproduction.
Metamorphosis[]
During the phase of the Full Moon - if a Witch, Human, Psychic, or Fairy were swimming in the Moon Pool - they'll be turned into a Merperson. However, Siphoners, Werewolves, Vampires, Rakshasas, Sphinxes, and Nagas will become Hybrids.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Limited Transformation - When a Merfolk is completely dry; their tails will transform into human legs, however, they can return to their true forms after 10 seconds of exposure to water, snow, or ice.
- Enhanced Breath - Merfolk are able to hold their breaths for well over fifteen minutes.
- Aquatic Adaption - Merfolk can not only breathe underwater, but can adapt to different temperatures of water including adapt to different types of water; freshwater or saltwater as such they can swim in any aquatic environments except certain depths within the ocean.
- Enhanced Senses - Merfolk have sharpens senses including a sharpen sense of taste as they can discern difference between human blood and non-human blood. They can use echolocation underwater to signal for their allies and even hear below water.
- Speed-Swimming - Merfolk can swim up to speeds up to 554.99 km
- Endurance - Merfolk are able to for days without exhaustion. They seem in many regions of the ocean except in Abyssal Regions.
- Merfolk Magic - Merfolk are capable of using Magic.
- Healing and Curing - Merfolk can heal injuries and cure illness from themselves by making prolonged contact with water.
- Marine Life Communication - Merfolk are able to communicate underwater and even to other marine animals especially with their Mermaid Moon Ring which allows them to control their power.
- Enhanced Agility: Merfolk are extremely agile swimmers.
- Enhanced Reflexes: They have adaptable reflexes and can even dodge a shark in a limited space.
Weaknesses[]
- Water and water-based substances - While Water is also a Merfolk's greatest ally - it can also be used against them as only 10 seconds of exposure to water, snow, or ice, even it is a single drop of water can force them to transform back into their true form. This weaknesses can be overcome with the use Mermaid Moon Rings
- Full Moons - During the phase of a full moon; Merfolk seem to lack inhibition and display wild, carefree personality - some Merfolk can resistance this effect while others are more susceptible to it.
- Ambergris - A substance found in the intestines of whale that Merfolk find irresistible.
- Water Deprivation - While Merfolk can walk on and being on land; if they are on land for too long they'll start to become weaker before eventually dying.
- Witch-hazel - Witch-hazel and products that use can cause adverse affect on Merfolk such as hives, rashes, and other afflictions as a result Merfolk avoid witch-hazel like the plague.
- Mortality - Merfolk are mortal can be killed by several conventional means such as decapitation, burning, murder, and other means.
- Overexertion - The excessive use of magic could lead to disorientation, nose bleeds, unconsciousness, and if taken to the extreme, death.
- Distraction - Denying a Merfolk from concentrating or giving full attention to their spells, may render them ineffective.
- Moon Pool link - Merfolk are linked to the Moon Pool that turned and as a result - destroying the Moon Pool will result in them being turned back into original species.
