The Term "Rakshasa Hybrids" typically refers to Rakshasa and Witch Hybrids who were made into Rakshasa-Hybrids via the Imperfect Rakshasa Hybrid Spell and are usually a mix of the witch and rakshasa species respectively (though it can be of other species too). On other occasions Rakshasa Hybrids can be born a Rakshasa-Hybrid through their parents, turned into one by Original Rakshasa Hybrids or just normal Rakshasa Hybrids. Rakshasa-Hybrids feed and survive on the flesh of whatever they chose to hunt (though because they are Hybrids they can feed less). It was formerly thought that Rakshasa-Hybrids could not be turned into an actual Rakshasa-Hybrid via a spell and it was said that it would not perfect when attempted. This exact thing was attempted though was failed and created The Imperfect Rakshasa Hybrids which only lead to people thinking this myth even more. As of 19th Century there has only been a Witch Rakshasa Mix and Werewolf Rakshasa mix. Other mixes are possible though (i.e Vampire Rakshasa and Phoenix Rakshasa).

Real Mythology[]

Rakshasa Mythology[]

A Rakshasa (Sanskrit: राक्षस, rākṣasa) is a supernatural being in Hindu mythology. As this mythology influenced other religions, the rakshasa was later incorporated into Buddhism. Rakshasas are also called "man-eaters" (nri-chakshas, kravyads). A female rakshasa is known as a rakshasi though most female Rakshasi don't use this to address themselves in the TVD Universes and instead choose to just call themselves Rakshasa.

Witch Mythology[]

witch is a person, who practices witchcraft or magic. Traditionally, the word was used to accuse someone of bewitching someone, or casting a spell on them to gain control over them by magic.

History[]

In The Mid 400 A.D a man named Ambrose Gilbert would be turned into a Rakshasa. After unknown circumstances it would lead to him becoming a Rakshasa Hybrid (Rakshasa and Witch Version). Once this happened he would become known as the world's first Rakshasa-Hybrid. Later after that Ambrose would become known as a vicious warrior. He participated throughout time as a fighter and conqueror, aiding in many causes that he thought were worthy of his support. At some point in 700 A.D (evidence points towards 714 A.D-719 A.D) Ambrose would turn many Unknown and dying people into Rakshasa Hybrids (like himself). These people would turn other people and it would lead to the start of Ambrose's Rakshasa Hybrid Bloodline.

Rakshasa-Werewolf Powers and Abilities[]

  • Super Strength - Rakshasa Werewolf Hybrids possess supernatural strength that makes them far stronger than immortals, Regular Rakshasa, Werewolves, Supernatural Hunters, and even humans.
  • Super Speed - Rakshasa Werewolves are much faster than humans and some other supernatural beings. They possess this ability both in and out of transformation, with an animalistic quickness.
  • Super Agility - Rakshasa Werewolves possess superhuman agility. In both human and wolf form, they have demonstrated that they can move, jump very high, climb, flip, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion. They can also jump down from incredible heights with almost gravity-defying grace.
  • Super Durability - Rakshasa Werewolves can take far more trauma than humans without nearly as much discomfort or injury, however, not as much as vampires. They can also exert themselves for longer periods without tiring.
  • Healing Factor - Rakshasa Werewolf mixes possess superhuman regenerative abilities, meaning that if they are physically injured, their bodies will heal rapidly. Like vampires, rakshasa werewolves can heal from the most grievous of injuries, even in human form, albeit slightly slowly in comparison to vampires. Similarly to vampires and unlike their werewolf counterparts, when a Rakshasas neck is broken, they become unconscious.

When a Rakshasa Hybrid Werewolf is furious or forced to defend themselves, their anger increases all their power and abilities for a short period of time, which allows them to access some of the power of their wolf form to give them an edge.
  • Shapeshifting/Transformation Control - Most Rakshasa Werewolves have great mastery over their wolf and Rakshasa forms, despite this during a full moon they will unwillingly transform from their human form and into their wolf form. However, if a female rakshasa werewolf is pregnant, they will not turn for nine months as the transformation would kill the baby.
  • Werewolf Bite - A werewolf's venom is extremely lethal to non-original vampires. While an Original vampire cannot die from the venom, they are not wholly immune to the effects of the bite. For non-Original vampires, the venom acts as an poison of sorts that will enter the bloodstream and deliver the toxin throughout the body, producing discomfort and weakness, developing uncontrollable hunger that progresses to delusions, hallucinations, rabid rage, and dementia, culminating in death. Original vampires undergo the same effects, but do not die and will eventually fully recover.
  • Full Moon - A werewolf's strength, speed, agility, and all their powers are enhanced to their peak during a full moon.
  • Immunity to Silver - Werewolves are immune to magic bonded to silver. Weapons made of silver might wound them, but the wound still heals at supernatural rates and will not be fatal to them.

Myths[]

Peridot and Emerald: Contrary to popular belief, werewolf rakshasas are not weakened by or allergic to Peridot or Emerald, as Xavier explained after Darius stabbed him with a Emerald knife. Xavier guessed that the myth was probably started by werewolf rakshasa. Emerald and Peridot actually have the opposite effect – when a werewolf is wounded by emerald or peridot, it heals.

Death In Order To Turn Them: Despite them being Rakshasa the person they intend to make into a Rakshasa does not have to be killed and can be extremely weakened instead. This is one of the many differences that separate Rakshasa from their hybrid counterparts.

Wolfsbane: Several myths have surrounded the use of this herb and its relation to and effects upon rakshasa werewolves, including the myth that wolfsbane supposedly either causes or cures lycanthropy. These myths are false.
