The Denman Affair is the eighth part of Chapter One and eighth part overall of H2O.
Plot[]
It was January 20, 2032 - a month had passed since the destruction and recreation of the Multiverse, however, the Omega Universe was never restored only to be replaced by the New Omega Universe to take its place. Upon its creation and time resuming - Cleo, Emma, and Rikki were no longer in the ocean, but on the docks of the Southbank Wharf. Louise had awoken in the middle of the ocean with no sign of Lorelei anywhere. Cleo tried to call Lewis, but received no answer, and realised they were all still dead following the confrontation. As such on the 20th of January; Cleo was sitting in her home with her parents Donald and Bev Sertori comforting her, however, a sudden tremor occurred before a flash of light burst out her walk-in closet. Lewis emerged from the closet to which Cleo rushed over to him while Lisa Gilbert, Will Benjamin, and Sophie Benjamin emerged at Lisa Gilbert's house and the Benjamin House respectively.
Lyla McCartney proceeded to awaken in an alleyway alive and with no memory of the girls being Mermaids or the existence of the Supernatural and proceeded to rush off to find someone. Cleo decided to not to tell her as they met up and to keep her in the dark.
Five days later at JuiceNet; it has fully been converted to a proper juice bar with more juice options than coffee options. Emma Gilbert was in the middle of serving a customer when a chrismatic newcomer arrived. She introduced herself as Linda Denman and ordered Sugarcane Juice. Emma greeted her kindly and took her order. Lewis was sitting across her looking through the paper for a new job after being fired his job as a commercial fisher for being 20 days late. Linda approached him and told she'd be willing to give him a job. Lewis accepted her offer and she took him to the Southbank Veterinary Clinic and told him that she was intrigued by the so-called sea monster claims by Zane and wanted to explore the possible option of sea creatures trespassing in Australia waters.
Patricia Gilbert spent time with Elliot Gilbert and her daughter Rikki Chadwick as they continued to grow close to one another. Samantha Sertori walked up to Elliot and asked him if wanted to grab juice with her and as he was about to refuse; Rikki told her that Elliot would be delighted to go with her. Elliot want on a date with Samantha and to seemed closer since the death of Neil Gilbert. Terry Chadwick, Carly Morgan, and Thomas Kent were continuing with business as usual when a pair of hoodlums ran from the Southbank Newsagency and Carly chased them down arresting them with breaking and entering, and burglary.
Will Benjamin and Sophie Benjamin talked about the events that transpired and that Cleo, Emma, and Rikki were Mermaids. Sophie wanted to tell people but Will managed to convince her that could endanger their own lives as well as Emma's. Sophie coldly to stop caring about Emma and told him that Emma would never date him. Will angrily berated her before asked why she was always abusive towards him, and Sophie told him that she wanted to be an only child and that he was reason why their parents were arrested for child endangerment. Will told her that their shared experience should be proof that they were strong together. Sophie admitted that she was scared for him, but still blamed him for their parents arrest. However, a group of armed men proceeded to invade Will and Sophie's house and proceeded to knock the pair out.
Cam Mitchell was confronted by Miriam Kent and asked about the location of the boat called "Lorelei". He said he didn't know. Miriam refused to believe him, but after noticing some fast pacing men she left only for Cam to be captured by them.
At an old warehouse: Will, Sophie and Cam were tied to a chair as one of the masked men asked about the "sea monster". Cam told him that it was just a bunch of nonsense that Zane was spouting. The masked man proceeded to use stun gun on Sophie and told him to answer truthfully or he'll continue torture each of them.
Zane was continuing his search for the "sea monster" and was almost attacked by Burke once again, but in his shock he let out powerful magic blast. Having no memories of being told that he was a witch; Zane proceeded run back home, but was sedated by men in masks.
The man in the mask awoke Zane and told that they all work for the Inner Circle and only wish to protect town from the "sea monster". Zane told him that he was trying to figure out the identity of the sea monster, but the masked man tasered him telling him that should be truthful and tell him the identity of the Sea monster.
Back at the veterinary clinic - Linda told Lewis that she was also a Marine Biologist as they were helping a dog with a tick issue. She excused to answer and phone call, and Lewis overheard her mentioning the sea monster followed by her telling them to keeping prodding information. She returned and asked him to finish up while she checks in a sick fish. Lewis finished up cleaning the dog before taking him to its owner. Lewis looked up and noticed that owner was his own mother Molly Fletcher, however, Lewis was reminded that following a car accident - Molly lost a majority of memories and no longer remembered him. Molly greeted him with a smile and the pair spoke with one another when Lyla McCartney entered the store and spoke with her mother as well with neither of them addressing her as their mother.
Emma proceeded to go to Zane's to speak with him, but he was missing as was Will and Sophie when she went to check on them. She called Rikki and Cleo to let them know they went missing and Emma took Zane's toothbrush and used it to perform a locator spell. They track him down to an old warehouse which was surrounded by men and women in masks. Emma noticed the water on the ground and used the Flammable Water Spell followed by throwing a lit match on it to cause the water puddles to burst into flames. They used it as a distraction to get inside and found Will, Sophie, Zane, and Cam. Cleo proceeded to free Cam and Sophie while Emma freed Will and Zane. Zane proceeded to flirt with Emma and Rikki, but they ignored their advances. They managed to escape with Rikki sneakily using her magic to liquefy a box causing its contents to spill out and trip some of the masked men that gave chase.
Zane returned home and demanded his mother to answer questions. She sombrely revealed that Zane's father was a witch and she tried to keep him from finding out, but Zane's powers are refusing to remain hidden. Zane asked Sherilee about his father's death and was forced to tell him after Zane demanded that she stop trying weasel out of the question. She revealed that she killed Axle Bennett by forcing it off the bridge. Sherilee told him that suppressing his magic was the best course of action, but Zane refused and in his anger released a blast of magic sending Sherilee crashing into a wall causing her to slam her head against a wall causing her to die from impact. Zane began to panic and screamed for help when Louise Chatham called out to him.
Linda Denman managed to help a number of sick animals before closing up. Linda stopped Lewis from leaving and told him that she wanted his help with another issue. He took him over to a large aquarium tank which had a number of piranhas. Lewis looked at her confused as they was no way that she'd be able to bring them into Australia without a special licence. Linda turned to him and told him that they were showing some rather odd symptoms and proved by revealing that she had administer every poison known to fish, but they are still very much alive. Lewis was confused even as the piranhas seemed to be following his movements and even seemed like they were listening to their conversations. She told him that she knew for a fact that there was a sea monster out there and intends to do whatever it took to find it and told him not to tell anyone before dismissing him for the day. After ensuring that he was gone; Linda called the masked men and asked them if they were successful in getting the "sea monster" to show itself or information on it. After learning that they escaped before they got the chance; Linda told them to not hang around town for a while as she'll talk with the other members of the Inner Circle.
