The Hunt Begins is the ninth part of the first chapter of the Omega Chronicles.

Plot

A few days after David had become an Upgraded Supernatural Hunter; David awoke in a warehouse with a bunch of individuals that have been impaled by brass pipes. David concluded that the individuals were Rakshasas and proceeded to cover his tracks by burning each of the bodies. David was about to walk out of the warehouse, but as he passed a reflective window; he noticed that his face was covered in blood and went to clean himself off. Later at Olga's apartment; David was in a panic as he told her about the warehouse. Olga was concerned about his situation, however, as she walked over to him; she collapsed to the ground. David managed to catch her before she hit her head on the side of her coffee table and helped her to her bedroom. David noticed several grey hairs on Olga and asked her how old she is. Olga replied 19; implying that she was born in 2012, however, David was told that Elena became a Vampire in 2010. Cancer appeared in Olga's apartment and told him that she collected several blood samples from Elena over the years prior to her becoming a Vampire. David without thought tried to stab Cancer, but she was able to stop him and threw him across the room. Cancer sensed that David was different and realised that not only was not a Rakshasa, but a different species altogether. David confirmed that he has since become an Upgraded Supernatural Hunter with the power to resurrect within mere minutes of his death. Cancer became enraged stating that it was his destiny to be a Rakshasa to which David replied that he didn't care and will never care about destiny or some stupid prophecy. Cancer revealed that she was responsible for Olga's creation and that she used her magic to halt her rapid ageing, but after David's "betrayal" she decided to lift her magic. Olga realised that she was dying and asked to be alone. Cancer left while David promised to find a way to save her. Jerick was sitting in a bar drinking some bourbon and while he was doing so; a few individuals noticed him and approached him. One of them introduced herself as Claire Bogdan and stated that she was the Alpha of the Essex County Pack and wishes to initiate him into the pack. Jerick informed her that he is an Omega Werewolf and cannot join or form packs due to his sire adding a solitary curse into the ritual to turn him. Claire claimed that such a thing doesn't exist and that all Werewolves; Evolved or Not; that comes to live in Salem must join the pack. The bartender told them that if they're going to fight; they after taking outside as per the rules of the Supernatural Court. Jerick asked him to elaborate, but the bartender refused as only a select number of people in Salem are allowed to know the inner workings of the Court. Jerick said they'll be no fight as he's only in the bar to drink. Claire insisted that he come with her and submit, but he refused. Bartender them to leave as he took Jerick's drink from him and told them to leave. As Jerick was leaving Alastair Sampson shoved him forward as Claire told him that he wasn't leaving until he submits. Jerick proceeded to push Claire to the ground before biting Alastair on the wrist as the Werewolf grabbed him by the collar. Alastair reminded Jerick that he was a werewolf too, and the bite does nothing to him to which Jerick reminds him that he's a "special" Werewolf. Jerick ran off leaving the two on the ground. David returned to Olga's apartment with Gemini and asked her if she can help. Gemini said she could help, but only if Olga was willing to her help. Olga accepts her help. Gemini placed her hand on Olga's wrist. Olga's grey hair begins to turn brown again and her wrinkles disappear as Gemini explain that she is reversing her rapid ageing as well as extending her life and told her that she's given her 10 more years. Olga thanked her, however, she got up - she noticed David was gone. Claire told Alastair to use his magic to find him, but before he could Alastair dropped to the ground. Claire noticed the bite and asked him about. He said that Jerick was the one to bite, but Claire responded that he's "just a werewolf", however, Alastair responded that Jerick may have been right and that he is a "special" werewolf. Cancer arrived and offered to revive him in exchange that Claire help her. Claire agrees and Cancer resurrects Alastair. Cancer tells them to stay away from Jerick, but also tasks them with locating David Phoenix. Elsewhere; Barry entered the cafe that Olga regularly dines at and approached the clerk. He asks the clerk and if he has seen David or Olga. The clerk told him he hasn't. Barry turned to leave, but Claire and Alastair entered the store. Barry was amused that they were still working together after they got divorced a while back and jokingly asked if the results of their Unification Ceremony is still in effect. Claire said no as divorce breaks the unification. Meanwhile; Cancer approached Gemini in Willow Park. Gemini demanded to know how she freed Aries. Cancer explained that Aries gained her freedom after Cancer managed figured out that loophole existed that could free Aries. Cancer used her magic to seal every one of the Preeminent Vampires that exist in the Omega Universe that are still alive including the Original Preeminent Vampire in a stone that in actuality was Aries' calcified blood. The stone was placed in a large safe along with The Necromancer and followed by sealing the safe was sealed with a spell. The safe was then dumped into Kīlauea. The combined life-force of the Preeminent Vampires and Original Preeminents along with the magic from The Necromancer and Aries' calcified blood served as the means to free Aries. An explosion of magic ensured and Aries emerged on the volcano. She proceeded to demonstrate the true power of a Zodiac and effortlessly killed The Necromancer, the Preeminent Vampires, and the Original Preeminent Vampires like they were nothing, however, she spared Alternate August Salvatore-Knight and forced her to tell her everything about the current world before abandoning her by the volcano. Barry, Claire, and Alastair left the cafe and searched the city before receiving a phone call. Claire was informed that noises had been coming from her pack's clubhouse. Claire told Barry and Alastair to follow her. They entered a spotted David standing in the middle of a clubhouse full of dead Werewolves. Barry asked if he's killed everyone to which Claire said no as her pack has 50 Werewolves, not 15. Barry rushed over to David to attack him, but he dodged Barry and stabbed Barry in the heart with a brass nail. Claire and Alastair run off it as David proceeded to light the clubhouse on fire leaving on the bodies in the burning building. David called out to the Claire and told her to give a message to every Supernatural creature in Salem and the message is "The Hunt Begins".
