The ring was stolen and used by a human, in an effort to prevent the birth of the chosen one and the apocalypse.
Altered Timeline[]
After completing his mission, the Time Thief destroyed the ring, so that no one else can use it to change the timeline.
New Timeline[]
O.J. took the ring from the Time thief before killing him in the process. Afterwards, O.J. found the ring in his pocket after waking up and remembering the timelines.
