This page contains the Timeline which displays all events that happened on The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Legacies in chronological order. This includes events affecting characters found in Flashbacks and Flashforwards that have already come to pass.

Pre 1st Century B.C[]

Some creature creates the blueprints of Kiatero, simultaneously making a spell that makes most species weakened by it. - Unknown
The Zodiacs are Birthed. - Unknown
The Primordials are born in 5000 BC
Xanthe is born in 4,500 B.C.
Xanthe dies in 4,478 BC (In order to complete her transition into an Immortal)

1st century B.C. []

Ancient Times

Empire of Privania Begins.
The oldest ancestor of the Salvatore Family, Silas, appears.
The oldest ancestor of the Bennett Family, Qetsiyah, appears.
The oldest ancestor of the Salter Family, Xanthe appears.
Two very powerful witches, Qetsiyah and Silas, create and successfully cast the very first spell of immortality.
Silas becomes "the very first immortal being in the world", created by the use of magic. Silas became immortal and planned to cast the same immortality spell on his true love so that he could spend eternity with his one true love/soulmate.
A very angered, vengeful, and jealous Qetsiyah killed or murdered Silas' lover, and buried Silas in a cave on an island off of what is now Nova Scotia. Qetsiyah created a cure for immortality, and buried it along with Silas. She also casted a spell that created The Other Side, a kind of purgatory for supernatural creatures, so that if Silas takes the cure, he would be forced to spend eternity with Qetsiyah there.
Empire of Privania expands in Europe, Becomes history's first Superpower.
Alexandria Salvatore (mother to Darius Salvatore) is born in 701 A.D.
Alexandria leaves Italy and moves to what would later become known as Jamaica.

Characters[]

Silas: Silas was a very powerful warlock who became the very first immortal creature in all of history. According to Atticus Shane, Silas, along with the help of Qetsiyah, his best friend, he created and cast the very first immortality spell on himself.
Amara: Amara was a mysterious woman who fell in love with Silas. She was murdered by Qetsiyah out of jealousy.
Xanthe: Xanthe is a talented witch warrior who has lived for thousands of years. She tried keeping peace between Qetsiyah and Amara but failed.
Qetsiyah: Qetsiyah was a very powerful witch, who along with Silas, a powerful warlock and her best friend, created and cast the very first spell of immortality on Silas.
Anise: Anise was a princess who ran away, and been living in the village in secret. She was cursed with a flaw in the immortality spell by Qetsiyah who mistakeling thought Anise was going to take Silas from her when she eavesdropped on his & Amara's conversation about the immortality spell. She never had feelings for Silas.

Consequences of the Spells on Future Generations []

The Salvatore Doppelgänger bloodline was created as a result of Silas, the very powerful warlock, casting the very first immortality spell on himself, causing an imbalance of nature.
The vampires were later created in the New World with a modified version of Qetsiyah's original spell of immortality, which was cast on Silas.
The first Werewolf-Vampire Hybrid is accidentally created, whose many strengths cause an imbalance of power in nature, forcing the Original Witch to create the hybrid curse to suppress the werewolf aspect and restore the balance.
The Petrova Doppelgängers were created as a result of the creation of the Original Vampires and Original Hybrid .
Descendants of Qetsiyah created The Brotherhood of the Five as a way to kill vampires, and ultimately, to find Silas, force him to take the cure, and then destroy him so that he would end up on The Other Side with Qetsiyah for eternity.
Many humans were transformed into vampires by the Original Vampires, and a large number of werewolves were transformed into hybrids

Middle Ages (ca. 900-1599)[]

Middle Ages

Alexandria Salvatore is born April 11, 701 A.D. to two powerful Italian Royals.
In 721 A.D. Alexandria leaves Italy.
Francis Gibson is born on Tuesday September 22, 894 A.D.
In 911 Alexandria settles down in land that would later become known as modern-day Jamaica.
Dominic Tiranul is born in 940 A.D.
A one night stand results in Cyrus Salvatore (Half-Brother to Darius Salvatore) being born in 941 A.D. to Alexandria.
Dominic Tiranul dies, almost being erased from record books in 974 A.D.
Dominic becomes a Phoenix in the same year of 974 A.D.
Cyrus Salvatore was thought to have born in 971 A.D.
Francis meets Alexandria Salvatore in 1019.
Francis and Alexandria become engaged in romantic actions in 1020.
Darius Salvatore is conceived in 1078.
The Renowned Vampire Darius Salvatore would be born in 1079 to Alexandria Salvatore and Francis Gibson on the date of August 31st.
Sabrina Salvatore (Sister to Darius Salvatore) is born in 1082.
Skylar Salvatore (Sister to Darius Salvatore) is conceived in 1082, whilst being birthed in 1083.
Dante (often known as King or Zeldris) Salvatore would be the last conceived (of his siblings) and he was born in 1084.
In 1087 Cyrus Salvatore starts his collecting souls of the dead for Arcadius (Cade). In the same year he requests to spend his last days as a mortal with his family on Christmas Day.
In 1098 Darius Salvatore would become a Vampire (Kol's Sireline).
A year later Darius Salvatore would create The Order (A powerful group of supernatural beings who keep peace within Darius' Sireline and protect history) in 1099.
Sofia King is born in 1109.
Ella Bennett is born in 1101.
Sarah Dawson is born in 1114.
On June 19, 1149 Violet King would be born.
At an Unknown Time Between 1179-1181 Darius and Tayana meet.
Rayna Salvatore is born in 1197.
In 1201 Darius becomes a partial nomadic traveller.
Aldus Charlamange is born in 1204, within Poland.

On the date of 1278 January 29 Leonardo Williams would be born.

1294[]

Leonardo Williams would discover vampires and would start writing his journals in 1294.
Violet King kills Leonardo because he learnt that she was a Vampire, resulting in his death as a human.
Violet King turns Leonardo into a Vampire.
Dominic and Violet become lovers, eventually getting married within the same year.
Violet kills Dominic due to him having an affair with another women.

1294 Ends -[]

The Primordial Werewolf, Tina Lockwood would be born in 1302 within the Land Of Cyprus.
Dominic Tiranul's negative energy becomes so strong and combines together, creating his evil self. Dominic (Evil). This happened in 1306.
In 1308 Dante Salvatore finishes writing his poem The Divine Comedy, Italian La divina commedia, original name La commedia, long narrative poem and he wrote it in Italian circa 1308–21 all by Dante. It is usually held to be one of the world's great works of literature.
Sometime in the 1400s, between 1414-1421 In The Continent Of Europe Darius Salvatore would be imbued with tremendous power and would become The first Preeminent Vampire. This happened because Local Werewolves terrorized the local villages in Greece and Darius Salvatore was the only person who they knew was a Vampire. created by 17 witches using an advanced form of the Immortality Spell, this would inadvertently cause Darius Salvatore to become above the level of The Original Vampires and Primordial Vampires.
When Darius Salvatore became a Preeminent Vampire Nature made it so that every Preeminent Vampire (regardless of whether or not they were turned by him or not) and Vampire that Darius Sires would have a very powerful sire bond to Darius similarly to the Originals. So if he dies then all of them will. This would mean the death of 100s of upon 1000s of Vampires would be die in the process. This also would mean that some of History's most strongest and feared Vampires would die along with every other vampire they sired. If this were to happen this could mean that over 40,000-100,000+ Vampires could technically die.
The Preeminent Stakes are forged shortly after Darius became the first preeminent Vampire by Heka and ghost Gaia.
In 1434 The Sisters are adopted by Darius.
Sometime in the 15th Century, Darius Salvatore makes a unspecified deal with Cleo Sowande.

Early Modern and Modern Period (ca. 1600-2020)[]

Early Modern and Modern Period

During the year of 1570 Cyrus Salvatore finishes his collecting of souls for Cade finishing with over 7000 evil souls.
In 1624 The City Known as Cherrysville would be established by Darius Salvatore and Katerina Petrova
November 12th 1608 Edward Montgomery Is Born.
In 1630 Edward Montgomery starts killing Vampires.
In the 1670s Katerina would abandon Cherrysville out of fear that Niklaus would find her again and would kill her.
Evelyn King would be born in 1689.
In 1690 Sebastian The Merciless and Darius Salvatore would become brothers.
Tracey Forbes is born in 1691.
Henry Stewart would be born in 1698.
August and Alexander Salvatore would be born in 1705.
Evelyn King would be turned into a Vampire in 1709 (Darius' Sireline)
Leonardo is killed due to the fact that he was getting ready to try and kill Darius Salvatore. Violet would learn about this and would kill him before he had a chance, resulting in his death as a human. Violet did this because she couldn't let one of her last known relatives die in 1717.
Alexander Salvatore-Knight would be set to burn at the stake alongside an unknown human in 1729.
Ace Dubois would start his mass killings and murdering within Europe that would result in him losing his life.
Ace Dubois would be killed by his own sire (Darius Salvatore) after his killings of the british people almost got out of control.
After being killed via burning at the stake, Alexander would go into transition, killing the man who was about to fully burn his body, solidifying his transition into a Vampire (1730).
In 1751 Edward went on to create the first Vampiric Immortality Serum.
In 1752 Edward would inject the serum into his body, becoming an ageless Hunter.
Rami Mikaelson would be born in 1777.
Tracey Forbes dies in 1780.
In 1781 The S-Team starts being planned.
In 1784 the S-Team gets its first unknown members and becomes an actual Team.
Darius Salvatore meets Napoleon Bonaparte during the beginning of the French Revolution.
Rami Mikaelson would be turned into a Vampire in in late 1789.
Late 1700s-to Mid 1900s Mikael Mikaelson and Rami Mikaelson would work together to try and destroy the vampire species which they view as disgusting abominations.
Bathias is born in 1806, South Africa.
Elliot Rouge would be born in 1812 on March 9.
In 1816, an army of Orgers came to Bathias' village to attack and destroy the villagers.
Many of the villagers in Bathias' village were killed, including Bathias' parents.
Witnessing the death of their parents, Rage who was enraged and his raw power starts to manifest.
Bathias, with his unleashed power, fought and destroyed the Orgers who attacked his village.
After the Orgers were defeated, Bathias had decided to leave their destroyed village along with the rest of the villagers who had survived.
Sophia Salter would be born in 1832
Elliot Rouge would become a Vampire in 1846
Sophia Salter would commit suicide, causing Darius Salvatore to turn her into a Vampire in 1857.
Sophia and Darius divorce in 1858.
Sophia learns that she's pregnant with Darius' child; January of 1858.
Sophia goes into labour and successfully births Hannah Salvatore.
In 1862, Bathias fought in the American Civil War.
Aldus Charlamange is sealed via The Darius Sword in 1863.

1864[]

June[]

June 12th -

Tina Lockwood rose up the ranks within her pack in an unknown forest, leading to the birth of many new Werewolves.
Evelyn King becomes a royal in great britain, causing a majority of the royal population to die.
Jeremiah Liones A Building on Fire killing over 10 people within.

Johnathan Gilbert begins writing his journal. At the end of the journal he gives details about Emily Bennett and her Grimoire. Edit

Jonathan Gilbert is interested in Pearl, the Oriental woman who has the Apothecary . He did not know at the time that Pearl and her daughter Anna are both vampires who could walk in daylight (Children of the Damned).

September[]

September 1st -

The beginning of the Atlanta Campfires, which Katherine uses as a cover, posing an orphaned girl who lost her parents in the fires.
She arrives at the Salvatore Estate shortly after this event.
Darius Salvatore commits a massacre that raged over what would later become fully known as Ohio.
Elliot Rouge would be turned into a Vampire just before midnight.

September 24th -

The first Founder’s Ball is held at the Original Lockwood Mansion.
George Lockwood returns home, bearing the Lockwood curse.
Henry tells Katherine that the recent attacks seem not to be the work of vampires, but rather of something else.
Katherine tells George she knows his secret.
Stefan confesses his love for Katherine and Damon overhears them

Unknown[]

Katherine later reveals to Stefan that she is a vampire.

October[]

Emily uses the power of the comet that was passing over her head, to place a spell that would protect Katherine, if something is to happen to her.
It is later revealed that Emily sealed the tomb bellow Fell's Church in order to protect all vampires.
We later find out that Katherine made a deal with George Lockwood for her get-away from the church.

Late 1864 -[]

The Battle of Willow Creek -

On this day it is planned that the vampire round up of Mystic Falls is to commence, and will be covered as a casualty of the war.
Stefan and his father have a conversation. Giuseppe spikes his son’s drink with vervain.
After drinking Stefan ’s blood, Katherine is weakened by the vervain and falls into capture.
Damon makes a bargain with Emily and swears that he will protect her descendants if he protects Katherine.
Emily seals the tomb underneath the church.
Both Stefan and Damon are killed by their own father (Giuseppe Salvatore), while trying to free Katherine from a carriage that was taking her to Fell’s Church, which the founding families wanted to burn.
George Lockwood frees Katherine form the church, and in exchange she gives him the Moonstone.
Both swear to take each other’s secrets to the grave. Before running to her carriage Katherine kisses Stefan ’s dead body.

The day after the battle -

Stefan and Damon complete their transition as vampires, and therefore Emily Bennett gives them the Lapis Lazuli rings.
Stefan confronts his father telling him what he has became and as they fight Stefan leaves his father almost dead.
At the end of the day, Stefan convinces Damon to drink blood, becoming himself a vampire, and after this Damon swears an eternity of misery to his brother.

Moments after the day after the battle -

Stefan kills Thomas and Honoria Fell, also Johnathan Gilbert.
Because of his magic ring, Jonathan Gilbert returns to life, and writes on his journal that he identified the killer as Stefan.

Later On In 1864 -

Johnathan Gilbert keeps researching vampires.
Through his research Jonathan Gilbert discovers The Original Preeminent Vampire and starts to fear Darius Salvatore.
In one of these journals he lists the ways to kill an original. "The wood from one tree and one tree alone, an ancient white oak would bring death to an Original vampire, like ones like Niklaus and Darius. When the tree burned, all hope was thought lost...But the ash from the tree was saved and witches forged a dagger to which the ash could be bonded. This alchemic bond provides the necessary poison potent enough to kill those beasts. It must be brandished by humans alone, for it will bring death to all demons who wield it Like The Originals.

November -

Hannah Salvatore becomes the leader of the S-Team.
Hannah acquires the Darius Stone and Sword in November 7.
Hannah attacks her father and almost kills him in November 8.
Hannah wakes up and learns that she's a ripper, getting given a serum that stops rippirism by her fellow peers at the S-Team in November 9.

1864 Ends[]

The Ending Of 1864

Rayna Cruz and Darius Salvatore meet in 1879.

The 1880s[]

1880 - Rayna and Darius engage in a romantic relationship.
1883 - The Vampire known as Ambrose gives Darius his blood (thinking that he was not a Vampire).
1883 - Minutes later Rayna stakes Darius for being a Vampire resulting in his 5th death.
1884 - In July of 1884 Rayna gives birth to Darius Salvatore's daughter, Mia.
1884- Mia is adoptive to an unknown family.
In 1899, Bathias fought in the South African War.
In 1915, Bathias fought in World War I.
Skylar Salvatore kills Ryker in 1927 (1st Time).
In 1934 Edward would try and kill all of the supernatural population living within cherrysville but would be killed by Darius Salvatore, before getting the chance to actually do it.
In 1935 Brooke Harlond would be born.
In 1946 Jordan Grant would be born.
In 1947 Brooke Harlond became a Vampire.
In 1940, Bathias fought in World War II.
In 1960, Bathais fought in the Vietnam War.
In 1962 Jordan Grant would become a Vampire which would cause him to pursue his dream of boxing because of his heightened emotions. After this point Jordan would become a World Champion boxer.
In 1975 Skylar seals a revived and ressurected Ryker within The Darius Stone.
In 1979, Bathias fought in the Afghan War.

Original Timeline[]

2010s[]

In 2010, Star is born.
In 2010 Darrien Salvatore (An Original Tribrid) would be born to Darius Salvatore and Tina Lockwood.
In 2013, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman are born. Samara was born in the Omega Universe.
In 2019 The Salvatore Boarding School for the young and gifted (A school for young Supernaturals) Would Be Created By Caroline Forbes and Alaric Saltzman.

2020s[]

The S-Team was founded in the late 2020s, after the ASO was destroyed.
In June 2024 Samara becomes a Supernatural Huntress
In 2030, A fleet of Orger Queens have arrived to conquer Earth.

2030s[]

Out of fear and desperation, the world leaders launched their nuclear weapons against the Orgers, but becomes an absolute failure.
Orger Queens fired their weapons everywhere in the world.
Billions of human beings and millions of supernatural beings died.
Several members of the S-Team were killed during the nuclear war.
The war between Orgers and Supernaturals/Humans is born.
The rebellion between humans and supernatural beings was founded by Star and the S-Team.
The last of the Salvatore Family (Damon, Elena (In-Law), Stephanie, Darius, Tina (In-Law), Darrien, Samantha, Kim, and Darius' Unknown Children) would survive the nuclear fallout.

2040s[]

The Orgers found and stole the Time ring from its resting place.
The Orgers fought the final battle against the Rebellion and was ultimately defeated in the process.
At the end of the final battle, the Last Orger Queen survived and used the time ring to travel back into the past.
By killing Star's mother, the Last Orger Queen erased Star's existence and altered the timeline.

Altered Timeline[]

Hope Mikaelson was born in 2012.
Lizzie and Josie Saltzman are born in 2013.
In 2019, The Mikaelson Boarding School for the young and gifted (A school for young Supernaturals) was created by Klaus Mikaelson.
In 2029, the S-team was founded after the ASO was destroyed.
The S-Team finds and kills the Last Orger Queen.
In 2030, Bathias and the S-Team fought and destroyed the Orger Queens, before they could conquer Earth.
In 2032, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse cast a spell that unleashed Tirgon upon the Earth.
Bathias battles Tirgon, in an all-out duel.
Tirgon is finally killed by Bathias, but the battle nearly destroyed the Earth.

Time for a New Timeline[]

Bathias decides to use the Time ring to go back in time and prevent the Last Orger Queen from killing Star's mother.

Flashpoint[]

Star is born in 2010.
Hope Mikaelson is born in 2012.
Lizzie and Josie Saltzman are born in 2013.
In 2019, The Salvatore Boarding School for the young and gifted (A school for young Supernaturals) was created by Caroline Forbes and Alaric Saltzman.
Bathias and Star locate the ASO headquarters.
Bathias fights off most of the ASO soldiers and guards.
Star rescues the ASO prisoners.
Star and the prisoners escape the headquarters on a C17, while Bathias destroys the entire headquarters.
The S-Team are founded in 2029, after the ASO was destroyed.
In 2030, the Four Horsemen are destroyed by the S-Team, before Tirgon is unleashed on the Earth.
In 2032, The S-Team, Superior Humans, Atlanteans, Merpeople, Orcs, Witches, Vampires, Werewolves, the Lightning Tribe and the Last Thunder Tribe fought against the Orger Queens.
Star used to the Reality ring to save the world once and for all.
- Orgers and Humans were wiped from existence and the Reality Ring was destroyed.
- Star died in the process of the Reality ring's power being too much for her.
The S-Team, Most of the Supernaturals, and the Creators attended Star's funeral.
A month after Star’s funeral, vampires had already starved into extinction.
The Creators offered the S-Team a chance to become the defenders of the universe.
The S-Team accepted the offer and the Creators used their power to create them an interstellar spacecraft.
- They were prepared and left Planet Earth, with their ship, to explore the universe.
In 2033, supernatural beings were now living in peace and prosperity.
- Planet Earth had already begun healing itself and is now becoming a living paradise.
- With the help of supernaturals, including witches and mermaids, there are more trees on lands and oceans are more healthy than before.
- Werewolves, Star'ans, Orcs, and Atlanteans are continuously thriving, along with the Lightning tribe and the Last Thunder tribe.
- The population of hybrids is now growing, soon there will be hundreds to thousands of hybrids on Earth.

Omega universe[]

1089 - Cyrus Salvatore makes his deal with cade 2 years later.
1594 - Darius Salvatore is born.
1644 - The Rakshasa Coven is founded.
1714 - Darius becomes the first Original Preeminent Vampire.
1924 - Anika Bhavsar is born.
1954 - The Rakshasa Coven is almost destroyed by a Supernatural Hunter.
1985 - Rajesh Tripathi is born.
1994 - David Phoenix is born as stillborn but is resurrected as a Rakshasa by Cancer.
2002 - Rajesh is turned into a Rakshasa
2008-2019 - The events Mystic Falls occur the same as it did in Vampire Diaries.
2013-2029 - Events of The Originals are mirrored.
2030 - presents - Landon and Rafael attend Salvatore School.
2031 - Aries invades the Omega Universe
- David moves to Salem
- David befriends Olga Milkov
- David meets Gemini
- David, Padraig, and Jerick are sent to Annalise's universe stop Cancer.
- Cancer is killed by David
- David Phoenix, Jerick, Rajesh Tripathi, Josie Saltzman (Omega), Lizzie Saltzman (Omega), Hope Mikaelson (Omega), Regina Collins, Stacey Masters, Olga Milkov, Æthelwulf, Charlotte (Omega), and Samara Gilbert after she was pulled from the destroyed Alpha Universe are sealed within the Zodiac Time Chamber by Gemini to protect them from the Time Ripple and the Zodiac Supernova Spell.
- Aries, Gemini, and Virgo used the Zodiac Supernova Spell to cause the explosive release of Leo's death to destroy the Multiverse and a create the Dark Timeline (Omega Chronicles).
