  1. Hope Andrea Mikaelson, Tribrid, is the daughter of Niklaus Mikaelson, an original hybrid of the ancient North East Atlantic Wolf Pack turned by the original vampire immortality spell, and Hayley Marshall-Kenner, a non-original hybrid of the Crescent/Labonair bloodline, being the first and only one of her kind. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, Hope is the firstborn of Esther and Dahlia’s Norwegian family line. This means that she has quoted “devastating power.” In addition to her Mikaelson magic, she is the only living descendent of a native American witch tribe to hold magic. Therefore, she has access to witchcraft from both her maternal and paternal bloodlines - both bloodlines being among the most potent witches to ever walk the Earth along with the Bennett Bloodline. Furthermore, her heart constantly produced vampiric blood and she was burdened with the werewolf curse. Despite this after taking her first life, Hope still possessed the ability to cast spells in spite of the curse's nature and no other witch over 1,500 years being able to accomplish said feat thus becoming the first known werewolf-witch hybrid (with dormant vampire side). Furthermore, after turning into a fully activated tribrid she was able to retain her magic despite being a part vampire and only siphoners retaining magic after turning. Several characters have referred to her as "all-powerful" or "all-mighty" with her magic being strong enough, as a baby, to fuel the New Orleans witch community for generations as well as make her a threat to people like the Hollow or Davina Claire when she acted as the gatekeeper of Ancestral magic and therefore the most powerful ancestral Witch. Due to her werewolf and vampire sides, Hope can utilise much more of her potential compared to Freya as she does not have to worry about overexerting herself due to mortality. Dahlia also stated that despite being a baby her power already surpasses that of Freya Mikaelson - another firstborn Mikaelson witch. In addition, while regular witches experience pain when being Siphoned by a Gemini witch, Hope feels no pain regardless to the extent they absorb from her given her near limitless reservoirs of magical energy which makes her a common source for Lizzie or Josie to draw from. As a baby only a few months old she was capable of heightened awareness and was able to save Camille and herself from an exploding house. After 5 years of being hidden from the world without training or guidance she was able to heal insects, could counter a boundary spell cast by her aunt Freya, banished Davina’s spirit back to the ancestral plane and place Klaus back in his own body, all while still a young girl. When possessed by the hollow, Hope’s power rose significantly causing bursts of uncontrollable power and she killed an entire army of ancient nazi vampires numbering, seemingly, around 50 with nothing but a scream. An acolyte of the Hollow stated that "Hope may be the greatest witch this world may ever know" indicating that at full potential she surpasses even his master - The Hollow. As the daughter of the original hybrid, Hope can sire hybrids (werewolf-vampires) through her blood without using Doppelganger blood and heal faster before turning. Her blood can also heal wounds from werewolves but not bites from Upgraded Original Vampires. After turning, she possessed all the common abilities of an original vampire in addition to werewolf powers. She is the only werewolf to complete shapeshifting into a wolf so rapidly, and without a full moon, uniquely into a white wolf, whilst also dematerialising and then re materialising her clothing in a wave of neon blue light. As nature's loophole, her blood can not only heal wounds from Malivore goo such as Triad bullets but also destroy the immortal golem himself who contained countless beings over centuries. Aurora De Martel compared Hope's power to that of a divine being. Uniquely, when emotional, Hope unleashes a shockwave of visible blue energy exploding in all directions powerful enough to move furniture and knock out all three species (witches, vampires and werewolves). The only, confirmed, thing on the entire planet that could kill her is the wood from a Red Oak tree - the one she and the Saltzman twins made before Hope turned. This was likely due to it being the last thing done with her magic as a mortal and therefore goes with the philosophy; only the power of the tribrid could kill the tribrid. She displays a great affinity with telekinesis and elemental spells such as water, lightning, air, and fire. Over the course of Legacies, she has overpowered a vast array of monsters and was able to largely stalemate Josie Saltzman who was consumed with black magic being powerful enough to raise Malivore from his melted state. However, neither she nor Josie was fully trying and Hope later displayed almost an immunity to witchcraft seeing as a sleep spell from Josie had no effect and a forced humanity restoration spell also did not work since, in Josie's words, she's "basically an Original now". Alaric Saltzman who has met all the Original Vampires, Esther, the Hollow, Bonnie Bennett, and numerous other powerful entities stated that Hope may be the most powerful supernatural to ever exist and Tyler Lockwood believed Hope to be the end of Vampires while New Orleans witches prophesied her to be the end of all witches. Hope's very birth acted as a nexus vorti that (along with several artefacts) was capable of bringing back an original vampire from the grasp of death itself and controlling them. Nature, itself, reacted to Hope as she fully activated her Tribrid status with the sky turning red and lightning flashing.
  2. Inadu Labonair, Also known as the Hollow, is the daughter of two Native American witches who was bestowed more magic while in utero and who reaped the energy of countless sacrifices over 1,500 years. It took the power of the Ancestors which is at least equal to 100 witches to contain her, though she was stated to be stronger which was sorta evident by how they were unable to permanently kill her, or the sacrifice of a 1,000-year-old original vampire which needs the power of a hundred witches to kill. Thus, establishing that her power is rivalled by that of a hundred plus witches. She created the werewolf curse which stripped a tribe of witches of their magic whilst bonding them to the moon and granting them the powers of a Werewolf. This curse persists in the 21st century and affects countless individuals. She is also the only witch to possess a vampiric body whilst retaining use of her magic but in the process damaged the vessel. This feat was later replicated in part by Hope, the Tribrid, who retained her magic when she transitioned into a fully active Vampire-Werewolf-Witch hybrid. While in possession of Hope, as a child, she easily put down every member of the Mikaelson family including Hayley, a non-original hybrid, and Marcel, the beast, without breaking a sweat, she also overpowered Freya and Vincent’s salt binding circle as he attempted to banish her spirit. Also if my theory is correct regarding resurrection, the witch needs more power than the target to resurrect them, then her power is seemingly equal to the Nexus Vorti generated by the sacrifice of Elijah Mikaelson, a thousand-year-old original vampire, and his entire sire line which could easily be hundreds if not more. Which was needed to resurrect her. Furthermore, Freya Mikaelson utilized the Hollow's death to reconstitute and heal Elijah's desiccated body to place his soul back into his original body.
  3. Qetsiyah was one of the most powerful witches of all time. Described as one of the two most powerful Travelers of the biblical era. WIth seemingly her raw power alone she created the only case of true Immortality, the immortality cure, and created an entire dimensional plane that entrapped the spirits of every supernatural for over 2,000 years which was linked to an eternal object AKA Amara and later Bonnie Bennett. The Other Side was separated from the living world through the division of the veil. Due to this, resurrection spells were made possible, as the Other Side prevented spirits (though with some exception) from crossing over to peace. Which also gave rise to Spirit Magic - the most powerful known form of Light magic. The calcified blood that belonged to her within Silas Tombstone was a massive source of power that was reliably equated to that of a celestial event, such as a full moon or a comet. Qetsiyah also demonstrated the ability to resurrect herself from the other side. She is the only seen witch to produce blue flames through her pyrokinesis, the hottest form of flames. She was also well versed with pain infliction spells and telekinesis. Before her second death, Qetsiyah implied that she could reverse the effects of the removal of the Cure as Katherine was rapidly ageing and dying.
  4. Dahlia is the firstborn of a powerful bloodline of Norwegian witches blessed with immense power and is the older sister of Esther Mikaelson. She first began practising with the dark arts during the time she was captured by Viking warriors. She created a fertility spell to help her sister in conceiving children. She created a new brand of Connective magic to cast a spell upon her niece Freya (also a Mikaelson firstborn) granting them Pseudo-immortality in the sense they could not die through conventional means nor wither to death after centuries but resulted in a century of slumber, for only a year to be awake with near-unlimited power. Using Kenning, Dahlia could enter minds en masse to speak to others from a distance causing the target's eyes to become white and speak Dahlia's wishes, she was also able to easily desiccate both Klaus and Mikael at once with very little effort. She is also the first witch seen to bestow magic to humans which made them formidable enough to stand up to an Original Hybrid as well as being able to casually teleport instantly in a matter of seconds and was strong enough to destroy the Indestructible white oak stake created by her younger sister Esther - a feat previously believed impossible. With a flick of her wrist, she killed an entire village of men, women and children. Freya also claimed that Esther paled in comparison to her sister, in part due to Dahlia's ability to sense magic in others, especially in witches of their bloodline. Dahlia appears to be very skilled in sensing magic. As shown when Freya tried to trick her into a killing field, Dahlia managed to sense the ingredients that the spell was composed of. Despite Josephine Larue having the power of an Elder and Regent, she was unable to undo the maiming curse her mother cast on her hands that plagued her for decades when in comparison Dahlia easily reversed with a mere blow. She is also skilled with necromantic spells being powerful enough to resurrect the deceased Josephine and use her as a reanimated message machine. Dahlia is highly capable and powerful in telekinesis, weather manipulation, cursing (reactivated and modified the Lycan curse), and etc.
  5. Esther was among the greatest and most powerful, dark witches in history, due to her various acts of great significance to the future, mostly negative. In her first life, Esther was an accomplished witch, being known as the creator of the moonlight rings by combining various spells into one and her most notable spell was turning her Husband and six children into the world's first original vampires albeit while she drew on multiple sources of power such as the sun and the white oak tree for power and eternal life. She also bound Klaus' werewolf side with a curse making his hybrid status disappear and become only an original vampire with immunity to silver. She later replicated her conversion feat a thousand years later onto Alaric Saltzman although she made him an enhanced original with superior strength. Also one thousand years after her death, Esther managed to resurrect herself in her preserved body, by channelling the entire Bennett witch Bloodline, including Qetsiyah, both living and dead. She was able to easily link the original vampires with wine laced with Elena's Doppelgänger blood and was the only one capable of reversing her centuries-old curse thereby effectively curing all of her children, in the end, to kill them as humans. Thus, eliminating the vampire species as a whole through their pre-existing and unbroken sire-bonds. Even without channelling the Bennett bloodline, though using a magical hotspot created by her own death, she was shown to have superior control over telekinesis and able to cloak and fight against a locator spell all the while to create the indestructible white oak by binding the protective magic, from Emily's protection spell on the Gilbert ring to the stake. When consecrated as a New Orleans witch, despite not being native, she was able to bend the entire ancestral plane to her will, consequently controlling the nine covens and the ancestors as a whole proving that she was the strongest ancestor. Given a second attempt, she was able to perform another rare feat of self-resurrection, though this was more in the form of possession. Utilizing ancestral magic and knowledge of the other side, she was even able to pull and perform the same spell with her sons, Finn and Kol, by invoking their souls into the bodies of witches, Vincent and Kaleb, respectively. She ultimately 'purified' them by placing them into witch bodies, giving them back their magic. According to Elijah, she was also a master of possession, with evidence provided by her possession of; Rebekah, Cassie, and the latest, Lenore. She was able to not only overwhelm the consciousness of each of the other women but able to leave them unharmed. According to Klaus, Esther was also highly proficient in the art of producing magical talismans, evident by the indestructible White Oak Stake, moonlight rings, an amulet that purposefully weakens werewolves, and the creation of Daylight Rings. When the other side began to collapse she was able to resurrect her Werewolf lover, with no known balance. Other unusual feats, only she or various few other witches have been shown to be capable of controlling animals, specifically, Starlings, creating minor Earth shakes with a wave of her hand, creating a boundary with the salt within a matter of seconds with no incantation, Astral projection (while maintaining a conscious form), to control and disrupt electromagnetic signals of phones.
  6. Freya Mikaelson is a firstborn witch of Esther's Norwegian bloodline and therefore possesses an immense degree of raw magic far superior to average witches yet after unlinking to Dahlia was unable to use all of her magic in fear of overexertion and thus death. Dahlia bound her magic to Freya’s and used her as a battery for centuries of sleep to wake for a single year with nearly unlimited power and immortality. Whilst under Dahlia curse she was able to communicate with her sister, Rebekah, through dreams and visions and use telekinesis all while still in slumber - unique feats. After escaping her captivity and seeking out her living siblings she was capable of taking down multiple members of the kindred, murdering a harvest girl for her treachery, healing Rebekah’s hand without a single word and breaking the spell sealing the Fauline Cottage doors, that had kept countless witches imprisoned for decades. She located her brother, Finn, in spite of being hidden with a cloaking spell, located her niece, Hope, a feat that Rebekah claimed could only be accomplished with the power of 100 witches and was able to place Finn’s spirit inside her pendant. She could enter Eva Sinclair’s mind to save Rebekah, whilst protecting Marcel and Vincent and was able to awaken her father's desiccated corpse with little effort. Freya was also the only witch, besides Hope, to demonstrate transmogrification seeing as she accelerated the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly and turned Esther, possessing a vampire, into a multitude of starling birds. Given the sheer amount of magic she possessed, she was able to break apart the cursed shackles that were meant to prevent a witch from using their powers. She was skilled enough to easily combine her mother's linking spell and her aunt's immortality slumber spell, creating a safe haven, anchored to Klaus, for her dying siblings thus safeguarding their lives from varying ailments. She successfully battled the hollow on occasions holding her own well and was even fortunate enough to resurrect Elijah, restoring his broken soul and mind. Her unlinked magic largely proved superior to Vincent Griffith's, another powerful witch, though not while he was regent and therefore connected to the totality of the Ancestor's power. She was superior to Dominic, the Hollow's high priest, defeating him in magical combat. Despite losing her augmented magic and immortality, Freya was still seen to exhibit magical feats that put her very much ahead of conventional witches. Freya cast a spell that allowed her to send her letter to her younger sister, Rebekah, something a number of witches in the past had done, however, she did it by reaching out to the magic she possessed while possessing Eva. This variant is unique as it did not use fire as a medium but, instead, it makes the letter vanish into thin air similar to teleportation. Freya has shown the ability to not only astral projects within the same city, but also to very distant locations. She also seemed to possess limited teleportation abilities seeing as she appeared out of thin air to babysit Hope and was able to make physical contact indicating it wasn't an astral form. Later, she simultaneously snapped the necks of all vampires surrounding her while in astral form appearing in Africa despite being in New Orleans. Her non-verbal pain infliction spells were so powerful she could give thousand-year-old vampires a major headache even if they have built an immunity towards pain infliction. Freya was even able to cast a worldwide locator spell - a powerful feat requiring a large amount of "mojo". Another unique feat, she was able to create a barrier between her and Lucien, the newly turned Beast, in order to Finn, Elijah, Vincent, and Matt. Unlike other boundary spells, this was a non-verbal variant that did not use sigils or the bounds of a room to enact, just a hand sign. Later, created a sigil that allowed her to bind, weaken, and inflict excruciating pain (as to boil the blood) on Lucien Castle. After being awakened from her five-year-long slumber, she continued to perform noteworthy feats of magic. Using her own power, augmented through the use of five dark objects, she managed to create two doses of anti-venom, with the venom from the seven werewolf packs and Klaus' blood, to counteract Marcel's Beast Venom. While her magic was amplified she performed one of the most powerful uses of Pain infliction where she impaired a vampire's ability to heal to the point where it fatally wounded him. Another instance was when she attempted to deconstruct Vincent's spell or to breach it with brute magical strength, she chose the latter by channelling Hayley. She managed to temporarily breach the boundary spell, for mere moments and freed her brother. Despite it being reinforced every day for five years by the regent. She is highly knowledgeable in necromancy, "old magic", representational magic, dark, traditional magic, and etc. She was also familiar with the Hollow's unique brand of magic instantly recognising the boundary spell and knowing how to counter it with enough time. A notable hallmark of Freya's is to casually snap the neck of her opponent, whether vampire or human (including other witches) with nothing but a quick gesture and non-verbal effort.
  7. Bonnie Bennett was the last surviving witch of the Bennett family, Qetsiyah's bloodline, and one of the most powerful modern-day witches in the world. Within the span of a few years, she transformed from a simple novice in the art of witchcraft to a nearly unstoppable force capable of taking down the oldest and most powerful supernatural creatures as well as controlling nature to a great extent. In terms of raw power, as a novice, she displayed simple telekinesis, pain infliction, pyrokinesis, a limited form of clairvoyance and hydrokinesis whereas later she demonstrated improved general abilities and was shown powerful enough to open a Portal between a prison world and the Mortal Plane while drawing on a massive celestial event - the eclipse through the use of an Ascendant, a feat which previously required the entire Gemini Coven to accomplish. Later on, she yet again performs the dimension-crossing spell under Kai's command, though she tricks him by sending her teddy bear home instead. She also successfully manages to imbue her teddy bear with all of her magic by binding her power to it. After regaining her magic after several months of being powerless through absorbing the magic of her ancestor, Bonnie acquired an enormous amount of power from it, restarting her own magical gene from it. Which enabled her, by saying a simple fire spell, to light up an entire house in another Prison World as she managed to light all of the candles as well as the fireplace. Her maturity and control over magic have also been shown to have increased as she simultaneously managed to channel both the Aurora Borealis and the Eclipse (both celestial events and great sources of power) that kept switching as the prison worlds kept changing in her spell. Drawing on such powerful celestial events allowed Bonnie to still - despite the prison dimensions constantly changing - manage to return home, finally freeing herself. Bonnie also reclaimed the original magic she stuffed in her teddy bear thus becoming even more powerful as she maintained the energy from Silas' Tombstone and her own power. During their trip to the 1903 Prison World, Kai informed Bonnie that he was only strong enough to send two people to the Prison World, but Bonnie proves how much stronger she is compared to the Gemini Regent when she sent herself, Damon, Lily and Elena back on her own without any physical side effects. Also using her own power she manages three resurrection feats albeit using the Phoenix stone despite it previously requiring multiple Heretics using the dark magic innate to their vampirism. Bonnie showcased her colossal amount of power when she single-handedly assumed control over hellfire and controlled it from a distance of 8 miles and then, using her psychic powers, called on the aid of the deceased Bennett witches to send the blast of hellfire back into the Maxwell Bell, causing Hell to collapse. Unknowingly, she began the practice of an extremely dangerous form of sorcery called expression while under the tutelage of Atticus Shane that made her incredibly strong for a witch of her age and experience. With expression, she was able to inflict a great deal of pain on Kol and incapacitate him long enough for her escape and even subdued Klaus trapping him in the Gilbert house. When she was attacked by an emotionless Elena she was able to instantly heal herself, faster than the rate of a werewolf or vampire and she was also able to locate and track Silas without needing a personal item with which to guide her, something that most all witches need. She was strong enough to drop the veil to the other side, resurrect Jeremy Gilbert before putting it back up, which was too much power for her to control and killed her. Using her psychic powers in a great moment of anguish, Bonnie created an entire spiritual dimension hidden from the devil himself to contain Enzo's soul. However, it is unknown how large the realm actually is and it is likely not world-spanning. Gaining the power of 100 dead witches made Bonnie one of the most powerful witches seen to date, allowing her to influence the weather almost instantaneously and effectively take down a vampire-like Damon in one fell swoop. She also used this power to perform a larger amount of high-level spells, such as the spell to ensure her resurrection upon her death. She could also bind John's life force to Elena, ensuring her survival after the sacrifice. Bonnie's telekinesis also improved as she could easily push an adult male through the air violently. She could also do the same to vampires. However, the most powerful spell Bonnie has performed was with the power of 100 dead witches when resurrecting Jeremy Gilbert. Bonnie, with the power of 100 witches, was also strong enough to kill even an Original Vampire with no White oak though at the cost of her own life.
  8. Dark Josie Saltzman is a version of the siphoner Josie Saltzman consumed with an extreme amount of dark magic that has physically altered her to a degree. She is the first witch in TVDU history to force a vampire's humanity on (though not an originals as she is confirmed below 100 witch category), destroy a prison world though a tandem effort with her siphoner nature allowing her to make holes in its reality, subconsciously rewrite the rules/laws of an advanced Chambre de Chasse powered by the collective minds of Hope, Lizzie, Josie herself, Emma Tig, Rafael, and MG, levitate/fly (not too big, but still cool), and allegedly have enough power to raise Malivore himself. She also launched a red lightning bolt from her hand powerful enough to overcome Were-witch Hope Mikaelson's shield spell and could create earthquakes, was resistant to sleep spells, knocked Hope out with a mere look, mind-controlled multiple students, and could remove supernatural influence from anyone's mind. Dark jo could also siphon spells in mid-air - a feat no other Siphoner including normal Josie has done.
  9. Davina Claire was a young teen and a member of the New Orleans french quarter witches who was 1 of 4 girls chosen for the harvest ritual. When the first 3 harvest girls were sacrificed power from each of them flowed into Davina, gifting her with the combined magic of each harvest witch, before being rescued by Marcel Gerard. With this power she was able to remove an original compulsion on both human and vampire subjects, she killed a group of witches with great telekinetic accuracy, made Elijah choke on his own blood and slowly forced Klaus to unwillingly turn. After completing the Harvest she was shunned and tortured by the ancestors while in the ancestral plane. After channelling dark objects and the nexus vorti from Hope's birth she was able to resurrect Mikael before the collapse of the other side, even controlling him with a bracelet of obedience. With help from Kol and Esther's grimoires she was able to create the gold white oak ash dagger, the only weapon able to temporarily comatose Klaus. Thanks to Vincent she was also named Regent, making her the most powerful ancestral witch in New Orleans, albeit for a short time. After being sought out by a new coven that practices in the dark arts for the Strix she was again granted enormous amounts of power allowing her to sever the link between Klaus and his sire line and resurrect Kol from the ancestral plane into his original vampire body. She has knowledge of Kemiya, Ancestral Magic, dark magic, seemingly traditional magic as of present day, and representational magic, sacrificial magic, as well as earth magic given her resurrection spells used such magicks.

Honourable Mentions

  • Silas - Former Immortal, one of the most powerful travellers of the biblical era, disrupted Qetsiyah's anchor swap spell, made flames appear on the tips of his fingers, liquefied a stranger's internal organs and trapped Qetsiyah, one of the most powerful witches in history inside a cabin for a whole day by binding the spell to the sun.
  • Malachai Parker - Siphoner with the power of two witches and currently a heretic (vampire-witch hybrid) using dark magic as his innate power source through his vampirism.
  • Vincent Griffith - Former worshiper of the Hollow, Regent of New Orleans, a former vessel for Finn Mikaelson chosen by Esther for his power, and stated to be one of the strongest in the city of New Orleans.
  • Markos - One of the most powerful Travelers being their leader, he cast a spell that affected every doppelganger for 1,500 years, when channelling had superior strength to old vampires and could strip away the magic of a Vampire or witches spell.
  • Unnamed Moroccan Witch - The one who subdued Rebekah, created a working resurrection spell for Rebekah Mikaelson to use before destroying it, cursed the stakes that made Rebekah insane, disempowered Freya Mikaelson, etc.
  • The Necromancer - A centuries-old with who uniquely possessed the ability to see, communicate with, summon and raise the dead. More specifically, he can summon spirits, even those from peace, and resurrect them in their bodies or raise corpses, thereby creating "zombies". The Necromancer also stated that death cannot hold him, as seen when Hope cut his head off and he remained alive.
  • Céleste Dubois - Céleste was arguably one of the most powerful witches ever born in the Nine New Orleans covens. Possibly her most significant way of using magic was the constant possessions of witches from her coven over the next 200 years after her death, therefore, she never knew true death, nor was she consecrated into the earth. As a powerful, ancestral and dark witch, she had great knowledge of The Harvest and knew how to control its energy through dark magic, demonstrated when she jacked the ritual itself and used its energy to resurrect 3 witches of her choice instead of the sacrificed girls. Her most powerful spell to date was the Crescent Curse, an extremely powerful spell cast by Céleste around 20 years ago, back when she was in possession of a Deveraux witch named Brynne.
  • Cleo Sowande - A powerful witch who used ancient magic dating back to the 15th century and possessed the power of inspiration. She used dark magic to create an untold number of unique species and monsters for Malivore to consume or for her own personal usage which included; a Landon Golem, a frog monster, Ferryman, Leprechaun, and the Vitruvian Man. Cleo was one of the few witches capable of organic teleportation similiar to Dahlia though Cleo needed a spell.
