Werewolf Hunter

*Aminah King (a Werewolf who lived in the 1500s is killed by Darius Salvatore in order to spite Seth for running from him.*

A Werewolf Hunter is a person that hunts werewolves or hybrids usually with the intention of permanently destroying them. Not to be confused with Supernatural Hunters such as the Brotherhood of the Five or Rayna Cruz, Samara Gilbert, or even others like Mia Salvatore-Cruz before the 21st Century. Werewolf hunters often keep themselves physically and mentally strong in order to be able to seek out and face their opponents.

They also tend to use special weapons, surprise or stealth tactics in order to be able to overpower their much stronger opponents. Hunters' crusades against Werewolves go almost as far back almost as far as Werewolfism itself.

Early History[]

Mikael Starts a War[]

After Mikael kills Ansel (Father of Niklaus Mikaelson) and this starts a raging war that continues to rage on, even into The 21st Century.

Darius Salvatore, The Original Werewolf Hunter[]

Despite Mikael killing Ansel he did not out-right hunt werewolves (primarily hunting Vampires). In 1239 C.E, Darius Salvatore is granted the power to destroy multiple werewolves that infested what would later become known as Sweden.

Darius' Chasing of Seth[]

Furious that a man named Jason Gibson killed his best friend of 400 years, Seth would find him, capture him, and would continue to torture him for multiple days. Seth soon decides that he would burn his body on display for all to see, causing him to inform people of all corners of the world. This attracts many people (i.e Kinamon Takahashi, Miles Alexander, and even Darius Salvatore). When Seth shows who he is about to burn, Darius realises that he shares a blood connection to the man and that he knows him (they're 1st Cousins). Darius yells at Seth from a far and tries to tell him not to burn him alive. Seth doesn't listen and he would kill Jason by burning his body aflame. As Jason screams in pain and agony, a tear falls from Darius' eyes. The memories he shared with Jason all appeared within him and caused rage to boil up within. He closed his eyes and opened them, almost turning off his humanity. He then walks over to Seth and tries to kill him. Seth evades this attack as Darius looks at a dying Jason, grabs his hand, and promises to him that he will avenge him. This leads to Darius hunting down Seth and various other Werewolves for centuries. He continues to do this up until the early 16th Century (1700s), where he finally kills Seth, though not without leaving a path of dead Werewolves in his wake.

Skylar's Hatred For The Primordials[]

Skylar Salvatore researches the atrocities that the werewolf known as Ryker has commited. In 1543 she starts hunting down Ryker, burns the country he established (Armenia), kills werewolves who live in Armenia (decreasing its population), and grows disdain for werewolves. In the 17th Century she obtains weapons capable of killing Ryker and In The 1920s, Skylar finds Ryker and his siblings within Gloria's (the bar owned by the witch Gloria). She proceeds to bind Ryker's siblings to their seats and stabs Ryker with a Ancient Silver Maple Stake in order to kill him. After his body combusts into blue flames Skylar dowses the ground of the bar in lighter fluid and sets in a flame with an automatic lighter. Again in 1975 Skylar would learn that Ryker was brought back to life via an unknown resurrection spell and she would track him down. It was December on this very day and was Christmas Eve. Knowing that she would like to spend the very day that proceeds the eve of Christmas for her family she would get to Ryker's location quickly. Ryker was within the city of Cherrysville, Louisiana at the time (and because of this it would lead to Skylar going there). Due to the city being created by her brother she would easily be able to enter the city and would head straight for Ryker, whilst accompanied by freshly made Maple Ash. When Skylar got to Ryker's estate where he was with his family she would use her superhuman speed to go up behind Ryker. She quickly reached into her jar of maple ash and placed it near Ryker, which immobilized him. Familiar with Skylar's face Ryker's siblings would flee in fear and Ryker would be sealed with The Darius Stone Sword by Skylar, sealing him.

Katie's Disdain Towards Werewolves[]

Katie's Disdain Towards Werewolves began due to an event that happened in her early life. When Katie was a little girl she walked through the woods in order to return to her home with her best friends. While walking they heard growling and other unpleasant beast-like sounds that would've freaked Katie out if she wasn't with her friends. When the two were about to leave the forest Katie's friends were completely torn apart by Werewolves in front of her eyes. Feeling defenseless she almost ran, though she stood her ground and tried to fight the Werewolf. This was to no avail until Katie yelled the name of her father (Nicholas). This would cause a Seraph Blade to form and appear within her hand. With she would slay the beast, though where she succeeded in killing the wolf, she failed in saving her friends. Still clinging onto their last bits of life, Katie's friends to her to never forget them and she didn't. Katie from that day on would kill Werewolves across the globe and would gain fierce notoriety.

Skills and Abilities[]

Although most Werewolf hunters lack any supernatural abilities (with the exception of Darius, Mikael, and certain members of the darius force) they do require a number of skills in order to effectively combat their enemies.

Knowledge: Werewolf hunters often have good knowledge of historical records, history, the supernatural world and potentially a good knowledge of supernatural beings (although potentially only regular Werewolves) along with their weaknesses and strengths. Most of them are also very good at finding people and research.

Fighting Prowess: Werewolf hunters are often skilled hand-to-hand combatants and keep themselves physically strong and in shape. Some of them are also skilled with weapons such as guns and knives.

Preparation Skills: Many Werewolf hunters also greatly prepare themselves for their confrontations. They may be using specialized weapons that they've designed themselves, such as stake launchers, stakes and vervain grenades and often ingest vervain or have it on them at all times thus resisting compulsion and incapacitating any vampire stupid enough to feed on them. Some of them also have certain artifacts such as the darius stone sword or the Sword of Alexandria at their disposal, which help them in their task.

Supernatural Abilities: Some Werewolf hunters also possess certain supernatural or borderline supernatural abilities. Mikael had all the powers of an Original vampire, Darius Salvatore is The first Original Preeminent Vampire, Skylar Salvatore is a Supernatural Hunters and has many advantages over Werewolves and even people like Azreal have Immortality and the powers as well as abilities that come with it.

Tools and Weapons[]

Over the centuries Werewolf hunters have created many tools and weapons often exploiting the various weaknesses a werewolf might have in order to combat them more effectively. It should be noted that some of these tools were in fact created by witches to help them.

Wolfsbane: A herb capable of making to become severely feverish and a werewolf weak and feverish with ease. It will also burn their skin.
Black Wolfsbane: The advanced version of Wolfsbane, capable of easily taking out any Werewolf. This weapon has rarely been seen as all of the trees that grow the herb are all in the possession of Darius Salvatore and his family.
Gilbert Ring: Although only worn by Gilbert men, these rings protect people from being killed by supernatural beings or causes, as long as the rings are worn.
Gilbert Device: A device created by Johnathan Gilbert, this device is a weapon against all supernatural beings and when it's activated, any such being within a 5 blocks radius will be incapacitated (usually).
The Darius Stone Sword: The Sword will trap any Werewolf stabbed with it and will trap them within the stone, forcing them to experience the stones in and outs.
The Sword of Alexandria: If a Werewolf is impaled with The Sword of Alexandria the werewolf that this is done to will be sealed away (similarly to the effects of The Darius Stone Sword.
The Golden Shears: Although mundane, if the golden shears penetrate a Werewolf it will enervate said werewolf.
Kiatero: Kiatero is a mineral that was created by Alexandria Salvatore. It is capable of putting down most supernatural beings, weakening, and subduing them.
Seraph Blades: Seraph Blades will kill most Werewolves with striking ease. If a Werewolf is pierced with the blade though escapes, the werewolf will soon succumb to poisoning. The Seraph Blades work so well due to the fact that they were magically designed to kill Werewolves.

Supernaturally Powered Werewolf Hunters[]

Supernaturally Powered Werewolf Hunters are Werewolf Hunters who are given power to kill Werewolves. Darius Salvatore was given power in order to kill a group of werewolves and so was Azreal.

Seraph Blades[]

Seraph Blades are the weapons that are used primarily by Werewolf Hunters. In order to use the blades you must call upon the name of a Salvatore, Gibson, or Cruz, in which the name will become magically activated and will be ready for usage. The Seraph Blades are the primary weapons of Werewolf Hunters and have a profound history with being used by them.

Trivia[]

Werewolf Hunters share a striking resemblance to Vampire Hunters, Supernatural Huntresses, and even members of the five.
Werewolf Hunters have existed for "almost" as long as werewolves themself.
Statistically speaking, Werewolf Hunters on average are generally stronger (mentally and physically) than the average vampire hunter.
The first known record of Werewolves and Vampires being enemies started with Mikael, although Werewolves being out-right hunted happened when Darius Salvatore chased Seth Gibson throughout all of Europe and Africa.
